Also interesting is the method of big end bearing retension.Rod end float obviously controlled at the little end and piston bosses. Are spacers used in that location?.
Looks to be set up for easy, straight forward bigend bearing/connecting rod replacement if necessary.Wonder if crank, rod, bigend bearing and crankpin are separately available parts.

On the 30 the rod is captive on the crank pin and is replaced with the crankshaft. On the 20 only the bearing is held captive on the crank pin, the rod will be able to be replaced separately. No spacers between the small end of the rod and wrist pin bosses in the piston.

Well I ran about 12oz of 32:1 Pennzoil mix,I started it per the manual. It caught on the tenth flip with the choke on,then about five more flips without choke and away she went.I will mount her up to my Pulse tonight, and hopefully maiden plane and engine on the weekend.
Later Jim.

Thinking this might go well into a Great Planes Super Stearman at 14-16 lbs. Have put a Zenoah 26 into one and it flew well. Will this pull as well as the Zenoah 26?

Looks good! What are the eight dots on the head near the squish area? Why is the conrod copper (?) plated?

Jody, thanks for the nice photos of inside a DLE20cc engine. I sure like the engineering job the DLE company has done . I bet there will be more good products they will place on the market in the future.

Tower just changed the DLE 20 arrival time from early October to late September!
Woohooo!
By the way, I found a cheap source for NGK CM-6 plugs [link=http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/honda/H-98052-56471.html]here[/link]. They are $1.97 each and I bought four for $9.63 (and that includes shipping).

I have a RCS 140 (22cc) two stroke gasser in a Hanger 9 PT-19. The RCS 140 has a rotary valve instead of the reed valve that the DLE 20 has. The RCS 140 weighs 38 oz with ign. and muffler. It appears to me that the DLE 20 would be a good replacement engine for this plane. Any thoughts, pro and con.
SuperCub Man. I also have the G26 in my GP Super Stearman. I chose that engine because of its weight and I still had to add lead to the nose. It’s a great combo.

SkyPilot101,I'll try to get some pics for you as soon as I can. It's really an easy install,if you've ever cut a cowl for any other engine this one shouldn't be a problem.Cutting that beautiful cowl was awful,I was tempted to buy one of those Pitts mufflers, but eighty bucks is crazy to me.This engine is about the same size as an OS 120,so mounts and hardware are the same.It took me about an hour to install engine and cut and mount cowl. This engine is really smooth right out of the box,so I don't see any need to ad more wood and stuff to the firewall, but thats just my opinion.

Thanks for that Gramps - Forgot about the nose weight and the DLE would mean adding a lot more!

Yea, I got mine today! It looks great, I plan on first mounting in place of the RCGF 20cc on my Ultra Stick. I have always felt the RGCF was a bit weak, it will be interesting to see a direct comparo.

The engines are in at Towers and getting ready to ship. They sent me notice of billing my credit card last night.
