No nothing has changed yet, that I know off. What exactly do you mean by that? The only thing ive done is, fueld it and and ran it at 2,500 rpm for 1 hour ( in ten minute increments off course for proper coolling ) for break in, I havent touched any needles yet. It idles perfect and seems to run great.

As your motor breaks in you have to fine tune the needles. Tweak it, you can make it run better. I promise.

By fine tune I mean the thickness of a screw driver blade. on the needles. Small increments on the HS and LS needles. SMALL INCREMENTS!!!

Moki 1.8, its up to you. I ran mine 2 hours on the ground and now after 4 gallons I'm getting 7650rpms on a 22x8 JXF. Did your needle settings change yet?
I have two DL-50's running 22X8 JXF. The most I'd get is 7.1krpm. That's enough to pull my 17.5lbs Extra vertically out of sight at takeoff. And yours turns 7650?

Hello Super8,
Ya I saw another post here on RCU where a guy was stateing that he tried to buy a DL50 from DLUSA and he was advised that they were out of stock and that he could only buy the DL55. Also that the DL55 would be on the market sometime after Feb. 28, 2009. So do you think after the DL55 comeout there will be a shortage of DL50's or will everyone sell there 50's to buy a 55? If thats the case then maybe the DL50's price will be more competative, or it could be like playing Hot Potato with there DL50's
I only have one DL50 right now and would like to get another for a future project, but moneys alittle tight right now, and I dont want to be sleeping in the dog house when my wife finds out.

The new 55 and 111 are replacing the 50 and 100. SO soon you wont be able to buy a 50. Personally that doesnt worry me as "there is no replacement for displacement".

One of the guys from Valley View RC confirmed the DLE 55 and 111. Their first shipment of 55's is on it's way and is expected in about 10 days.

No, the 55 replaces the 50. Makes no sense to manufacture two different engines that will compete against each other. Parts and service will not be effected though.

Just looking at the pictures it looks like a person could upgrade their engine to a 55 by adding the new cylinder, ring and piston. We will have to see if any of the internals changed, but I doubt it.

I took the dive today and sent payment to ValleyviewRC for the DL 50 and a couple props and was told to await the arrival of the 55's. I hope they run as well as the 50's, and I really don't need any more nose weight. But if everything is identical except a little more power, then heck yeah. It's replacing my broken ZDZ 50NG in a Great Planes Patty Extra 300. I'm anxious to get it back in the air. Anyone find specs for the 55 , please post, I can't find any yet.

At this time, yes. We won't raise or price unless we have to.
