DLE30!

Capt'n,
I was wondering about a bearing being located in the rear case. This omission should significantly simplify the manufacture of a rear intake rear case. Would be best to start with a basic design to see if it works and then go from there. I would hate to spend a lot of time machining it nice and pretty to find out it doesn't work. I'm pretty sure it will work though! I am not going to buy a DLE-30 just to make a new rear case but maybe I will get lucky and find one cheap online or at a swap meet this winter. If the price is right...I will do it. I will need the complete engine to do the mods and make trial runs.
What's for supper???? [sm=tongue_smile.gif]

Capt'n,
Yeh..right! Rub it in real good! I'm sitting up here with Sasquatch chewing on icesickles with last fall's squirrel droppings trickled in for flavor! Heck I don't even have enough heat in my shop to get epoxy to set. It did get up above freezing today. It's starting to snow again. No progress on the rear intake DLE-30. Work has been crazy busy and they say there is a recession. I'm working 50-60 hours a week and there are 4.5 million people on unemployment? Something ain't right here. [sm=cry_smile.gif]

Not so easy when you have too many hobbies and bad habbits. My worst "bad habbit" is taking my wife to the Caribbean Islands twice a year. Life ain't so bad. Neither is my wife at 50+! I'm suckin' it in real hard in this pic! [:'(] Well after submitting this picture of my "man boobs" I had better get back on the subject of model engines don't you think???

Speedy,Well it is good to see you are having some fun.....now back to the DLE 30cc engines. I have been showing how my DLE will start from cold with a good choke & flip to it fires. Open choke and it will start right up & keep running! Then after it warms up about 60-90 seconds, I will shut it off & restart a min of ten times in a row with 1 FLIP! I have not even charged the battery in over three weeks! Capt,n

Hi guys,
I think I have asked this before, but I need an answer.
What is the CM-6 plug gap for a DL-30?? I have had answers from .012 up to .045. That gap range is unexceptable.
I would like to hear from the people that know, not from the people with an opinion.
I have been thinking about this all day, I think the proper gap would help tremendously at idle, and improper gap may be contributing to some of the idleing issues that some people are reporting. That is certainly not a fact, just a thought, not an opinion. What do you think?

NGK will suggest an .018" gap. .017" saves regapping a lot later. They generally come out of the box at .018" so if there's a visible gap you can jsut about bet it's .018". You can gap wider and let your engine tell you how it's working out. Too much gap makes the engine miss at higher rpm, or simply provide less output.

I JUST RECIEVED MY NEW DLE-30. i PLAN TO PUT IT ON A WILD STICK, SO INSTALLATION DOES NOT MATTER AS FAR AS ORIENTATION. i don't know if i have an idling and dying issue or not,but want to install it on an angle from vertical just in case. HOW MUCH DO I ROTATE FROM VERTICAL, AND IN WHICH DIRECTION. THANKS

Hey John.... Did you see that Cyberwolf is manufacturing a rear intake case for the DLE-30?

You can post whatever you want in my thread anytime Ralph.
For anyone interested I did some prop test comparisons with the DLE30 and a 3W28i. I hope I'm not breaking any rules posting the results inhere so here goes.
<span style="font-family: ">I said I would do a prop test comparison between the DLE30 and a 3W28i sohere it is. Allruns weredone using the exact same props, ignition module, timing settings, muffler, and fuel. All runs runs were completed within a 2 hour time period so atmospheric conditions were as identical as possible. This is a comparison between 2 well broken-in engines that I own, I will not proclaim any sort blanket relevance to all of their siblings, take it as you will, your mileage may vary.<o

Interesting info, Jody. Thanks. Wish we could get a few more comparisons like this with other engines without everybody jumping all over it. Would love to see these two engines run side by side with the JC28, Syssa 30, MT 35 et al. Having watched a couple of these threads degenerate, guess that'll never happen lol.

Thank you for the comparison. I was going to do this with a Syssa and DLE I decided I only need one 30cc engine. Don't really need a DLE 30 but it will be fun to run in a Byron Pitts.
