I don't know if anybody has ever talked about an issue with the plastic backplate on the 82.

Okay Pope, what were you calling a cow a few messages back?

Good catch on the APC prop, Pete. Thanks for the laugh.

I'm in the process of rebuilding an FA 82 for a friend. I've done a couple of my own in the past. It's been quite awhile so don't recall what I used for a default (factory setting) on the LS needle. Any suggestions?

Hi there Mr blw moderator to the stars ! I think i was referring to O.F. and something about a saito in a cowl . Me being a silly ol pope under the influence of some festive good cheer thought he meant a cow . I just mentioned that it was no place for a saito and the cow might not like it either . Now that I have sobered up I have seen the error of my ways and O.F. as per usual makes no sense whats so ever ! I hope I was able to clear things up for you and if it does can you explain it to me sometime ? Cheers and a merry x-mas to all ( except O.F. of course )

Okc i have a new 82 as opposed to the old round case (cam cover) with an aluminium backplate,i think it's lighter than the old plastic one and tail heavy ain't bad in a decathlon.

Popey you cow and merry christmas coming to you mate.

Hi rick wind the lsn out till it's nearly flush with the plastic arm.Hsn out three turns and kick it in the guts.Let it warm up on half throttle and then full throttle, lean it out to max rpm and then do the lsn.Bit of back and forth on both adjustments after that to fine tune it.The best test is to fly it and fine tune from there.

Good morning Pete, yesterday I stumbled across two new unsold Saito FA .40s from the 80's I think. I have one of them spoken for. I love those old engines though a little lower on power than the later ones. I am not power crazy so they fill the bill perfectly on most planes. It will be like this wiath much nicer box and a modern cast muffler.

Looks like a true classic! I had the original early OS .60 with the exposed rocker arms, it financed my return to RC when I sold it 10 years ago.

Pope- you sound like you have had a few snorts already by what you tried to write there. I'm not completely sure this will make any sense in the morning. And don't leave the house without taking a buddy to protect you from going coyote ugly.

That looks good dave can you blow up the instruction sheet for the old fa40 it would be good to compare it to those you get nowadays.Click on popeys link, after the first short vid of some lunatic destroying a gummint owned honda ct110 postie bike and flinging mail all over the neighbourhood the next vid shows a guy standing on the seat wheelieing a harley bagger down the freeway, really funny dress sense for the occasion.

Popey there was a big motorcycle toy run here in perth today santa suits and all, funny as.I'll be unpopular with the neighbours tomorrow sunday morning we have an early ride up into the hills east of here for brekky at 7.30 am so no sleep in till 9 for them.

ps i bought some mice baits to save the pain of getting your fingers slammed in a hairtrigger mousetrap.

It worked thanks, and good reading.Like to hear what you and others think between that set of instructions and what we get now for the same engine? on a funny note workshop manual translations were perfected by bultaco,it was so funny it doubled you up reading the instructions in semi english and that's before you even start the bike. They kick back like a mule when it's cold so karma really works? .

Really nice Sr, fine stock finish and is that a horn forearm tip?
Good to see a sporterized Krag in the woods, and rare these days with a peep - Lyman?

Not strictly Saito related but I can speculate Gen Saito may have appreciated a finely made Krag. :-)

Proper hunting results in quick, clean kills.
Over-population often leads to wide-spread death through disease and starvation - not a very "humane" way to reduce the numbers.

My compliments on your rifle still stand Sr, but apologies to all for the later comments - nonsense not withstanding, this isn't the arena for cultural/political/historical/socio-economic discourse.

PM me if you wish Pope.

As I said, not the place for it.
Further remarks will be ignored.
