I stumbled across a used Saito .56 yesterday, it will be here in a few days, I will do one of my little reports with an OS-f and a Xoar 12x6 on Wildcat 10% full synthetic fuel. Tower is sold out of Fox Miracle's so OS-f it is. See that Pete, an OS-f, I'm broadening my horizons.

I just got an E-mail from Adrian at C&H, he just sent me an ignition system for the new 1.25. I was fondling it yesterday and noted that as others have been saying it is not as broken in at one hours time as other Saitos have been. Wrong picture, fixed.

Well I sure hope you post a good breakdown of that CH on the 125 as well as run time on 16 ounces of Glow. I have one in my Mustang its a real power house, but a hungry one. It's the only reason I don't fly it more, uses too much fuel.

My question about dying APC props was to maybe dye them black. At least they would look better. Maybe I'll call the company on Monday.

Interesting that yours runs rough. I always get compliments on how smooth mine runs. All my engines except the DLE run nice.
Oh I also found out why they don't run well on the SIG fuel, its 2 stroke fuel, so probably runs too cold for these.

DARN IT OLD FART!!!! You jinxed my 125 by all the hate talk. Other than two burps while back flipping I could not get mine started today!!! All it did was spit fuel out the carb and muffler, and the GP was HOT. I could hear it sizzlin. It was a perfect day to fly the P-51 too.

Looks like you're new to RCU too, welcome, there is plethora of info on the gas Saitos in the Gas Engines Forum. More than there is here, but it's growing here. I am playing with the gas idea a little on my own. A Zama carb on a glow 1.50s.

Don't forget, run 20:1 or higher oil content in those. Even at that high a ratio oil to fuel they are surprisingly clean.
I'm still trying to figure out why I couldn't get that engine running today, it always started before. All it did today was spit fuel out the muffler, crank and carb with a hot glow plug. I got two pops back flipping, and that was it. Had it spinning with the electric starter and nothing.

Hey Richard, the Zama was not on an engine, I forget how I got it. I am going to check out the Delorto on the Tartan 1.34. My Walbro's are too big at 28mm. The Zama is a hair under 10mm.

Thanks Richard, no, that is an early 1997ish C&H unit, I got it from Dan, I already had an early C&H Synchro-Spark unit. I also have a no advance unit that has a module that plugs in, inline with the sensor that has the Synchro-spark built into the module.

Barry if you pre heat the apc you could probably run a rag soaked in dye over it,try that.Otherwise paint it,most manufacturers won't recommend it because they have no control over application methods and so on.

Painted props don't last long around glow fuel. Manufacturers just cover their butts nowadays, so who listens to them?
acdii- did you get that engine to crank after you got it home?

Haven't touched it, just going to squirt after run in it and put it away for the winter. I'll tackle it next year when I make a run in stand. Only takes a couple minutes to pull it off the plane. I also have to replace the bearings in an FA-100 I got for a Cub, and get after run oil in the rest of my engines for storage. Looks like this past weekend may have been the last one for the year, going to be cold this coming weekend.

I use air-tool oil (except for YS engines). What do you use?
