Jim, I had this version of that engine, I had a set of Mac's exhaust pipes for it, the front pipe curved downward under the rear pipe and then they went parallel and connected to two Mac's quiet, tuned pipes. Quite an expensive and bulky set up. It wailed like a Banshee.

My 120 fathead throttle barrel turns too far in both directions. Past fully closed and past fully open. Hmmmm, have to take a look at that.

The engine is very new. Maybe that's normal?

I think I have another carb for that engine
but I will check mine when I get home and see how much play is in the carb

It should turn all the way around since the barrel is held by a spring clip. And there is no stop screw or idle adjuster.

Ok, thanks.

Is that your brand new fathead? Mine looks really good after cleaning, not that good though.

My 2 stroke damaged eyes have healed after seeing that!

No sir, that is a picture I grabbed off the net. I have an early 65 with a similar carb, but it has an idle stop screw.

Metering slot offers nice clean, linear mid range.

Yeah, the lower compression 65 is the sweetest runner I've ever tested. Excellent midrange metering. I wanted to keep it but someone offered waaay too much money to say no. I missed a sale on the high compression version earlier this year. Dang vultures.

Yeah
my 120 fathead looks like hell and has only been bench run by the first owner. Now I see I have to go through it and loosen stuff up the valves are stuck. And I can barely tern it over.

Alcohol works great for keeping those engines looking good, or not caring what they look like depending on which type you use.

Jim in reply to your post #47400, it seems you are not the only smelly closet two stroker cat on this thread. We've all seen a cat sprint across the road only to change it's mind and try to go back = one flat hairy pancake at the roadkill restaurant, would you like a large fries and coke with that?? . It would be good to see a vid of an old open rocker fa30 running.

ps woke up at 2am this morning in a sweat, what a nightmare buddy, i dreamt my fox terrier saito was digging a hole in the back yard for the next door neighbours cat and unearthed two long buried fa125's.

pps capt nice pic of the fa120 fathead, huge barrel/head eh?

Some of you who are working on Saito 120's, there are a few parts at MacGregor's, read carefully SAI200 parts can easily be mistaken for SAI120 parts.

Horizon has a few also: https://www.horizonhobby.com/search?...=&lang=default
Horizon's Saito codes for 120's are Saito L, Saito M and Saito N

Dave, seems the letter codes for saitos is a real time saver when cross referencing parts compatability. Where do I find the list for saito engine letter codes?

Lets see if this works, the F's are missing from the FG's in the left column.

Dave that just shows how meany Saito’s that I am missing.
well at least I have 90% of the singles there are a few GK’s I am missing but those I wasn’t going to count.

how ever I mocked up the 80t (it’s so cute) on the front of a Senior I am building. It looks like it belong’s there.
