how often you give some maintenance of this part?
In my case I really dont have this problem yet. I only clean the car everytime I finished to drive...maybe this is the reason.

Silicon Oil:
Hi everyone...my question is:
Is usual for the time the silicon oil begin to evaporate or escape for the normal use of the car?

i realy am not sure.i guess it may depend on the time of year.but i check mine after abought every 5 to 6 race days.and that seems to work for me.i have yet to find one dry.and i run hard. just make sure that your diff gaskets r all good and check the oil every so often and you should be fine[sm=thumbup.gif]

Thk a lot...I check the oil after two weekend. The first time i check the oil everytime after of a good day. I see the oil is OK..but in sometime I need to refill. Maybe is normal the oil evaporate...

The first impression I feel is the diff gaskets....I change it but I cannt see the diference...

I feel ths is normal for the use....thk again.

have you fill it in correct volume ?
you should fill it until the oil is above the bevel shaft a bit.
too much oil will cause your diff to leak from its oil overpresure.
if that thing still happen then you should double your gasket seal (i read this in www.sportwerksrc.com --> tame that mayhem)

but it never happen to me anyway. and they must not evaporate or escape from anywhere coz it could damage the bevel teeth.
i rebuild my diff after 3 weeks of praticing and once after racing.

if that still happen then try greasing your diff instead of silicon oil

silicone oil as the habit of evaporating a bit
certainly the light 500-1000 oils
because some liquid is involved and with the heat it evaporates
sometimes
it doesn't lubricate much neither
so I put a little bit of graphite dust into the diffs each time at refill

2 holes of 1.5 mm
pistons are 1 mm less in diameter than mugen pistons
pistons are very strong
I milled some holes fairly conical V till the edges
and added a 1.5 straight hole
and they didn't break..

Just to address to one-way bearing issue mention at the very beginning of this page and the tail end of the last page......

As many of us know the one-way bearing will slip from time to time, and will periodically need to be cleaned. Everyone will have their own opinion on how to do so, but the best way I've found is to pull it from the back of the engine, soak it in denatured alcohol and then blow it dry with compressed air. OR, there is a quicker way which has worked flawlessly for me each and every time I've done it, which can save you from needing to pull the engine and disassemble the backplate each time the one-way starts slipping. Pull the glow plug, and put a one to two second shot of WD-40 down the glow plug hole. Then tilt the engine/vehicle to allow the WD-40 to run down towards the backplate and one-way bearing. Let it soak for about 10-15 seconds and then try the starter/pull start, etc. It may take a few spins or pulls for it to catch but once it does it'll be good to go for a while.

Drilling holes in the "starter" backplate sounds like a good idea but if you do any off-road running at all or in any type of dirty environment, unless those holes are plugged you'll be getting dirt in there which can work it's way into the engine possibly. That can spell bad news if enough dirt gets in there.

Anyway......that's just my two cents........take it or leave it.......

I know of but one pro version...

or one with engine and one without
but both have the same chassis

this is a pix of the new long chassis due in a month or so
but it has the same overall chape
if your downstop lips are different , they have been modified or milled somehow

Okay, the difference in the RTR and Pro chassis is important if you want to use a starter box. The RTR flywheel opening is smaller so if you want to use a starter box you must dremel out some of the opening and put a 45 degree angle so it won't rub the starter wheel. Also the Pro version has milled recess areas that save weight. Other than those two minor items there is not much difference.

My first time in the track.
I'm very surprise about Mayhem. I'm very nervious because I never to drive in the track. Everyone ask me what kind of car I have....I answer this is a sporkwerk. What is that?, mmmMMMMM?, this is nitro car?, this is a toy?, etc...etc. And put me more nervious. Nobody give me some space on the table to make some setting. I needed to does it in the floor.
The first round surprise. I told the first position.
The second round one surprise again...first position.
After that, everyone go to me to see me. Why I cannt stay with everyone?, What kind of secrect I have?, Maybe I make some chemic combination of the fuel, and finally ask me again...What brand is my car??....my asker is spokwerk. Only one uy see my car carefull and he see I use a .26 motor
Before to the next round, everyone begin to change the fuel, change the setting, another guy change the motor of the ofna...I see him put a .28
The third round and this time is no surprice I told the first position again.

The final round I see a lot of driver dont have a good face with me. MMMMmmmm what I need to do?....I decide to not drive this last round.

My conclusion, this Mayhem is really a good car.

see ...
Mayhem is the best.
i beat mugen drivers last time.
many of them have intereset with this buggy.

the only thing sportwerks need to do is hire some pro drivers and let them win some races to increase the image

BTW, that thing happened to me also when i came to the track for the first time. the kinda ignored me with my mayhem till i beat their a*S

Hi everyone:
Now I would like to know about the Fuel % to use for the Mayhem.
20%, 30% or 40%.

I can use 20% for practice in the track and use 40% for the competition. Or that is not a good idea to use two % of fuel.
Another qeustion is when I change the fuel% I would need to make some small break in?

yes, when you change your fuel %, you needt to rebreak in and retune your engine.

i use 25 % both for practising and racing and it works well.

it is better to just run one kind of fuel.i would not run 40% fuel unles you can afford to rebuild you motors quiet often.but if you are going to run 40 you will need to shim up the head.as far as breaking them in again no you wont have to.once a motor is broke in it is broke in.but you will have to retune.if you up the% then lean it out.if you drop the % then fatten it up.personaly i run 30% and my buggy screams and i did not have to shim the head.good luck

thk....the location of the track will affect. Specific the latitud. I know in the level of the ocean 20% is ok. But what about more high.

Hi I'm sorry to be a nuissance in the thread but I saw this footage of the Mayhem RTR,it's found on the bottom of the page)[/b]
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByC...ProdID=SWK1200
I've never seen/or driven a 1/8th sale buggy in live action but judging on the CRAZY speed of this buggy considering it's a stock RTR [X(] are you guys not having any kind of trouble trying to control these things at such amazing speed? or what more if it's like a V SPEC or those other sickening engines you guys are talking about?, these things are insanely fast[X(]
