I've been running a sportwerks 21 lately and my LSN is at about a 1/4 turn out from all the way closed. I know that sounds crazy but that is where it runs good.

yes i run them on my buggy.they are softer than the stock springs.but it all depends on the surfface you run on and how your car is set up.but they work fine for me at most tracks i run on[8D]

One reason I asked about the OFNA blue springs is I noticed I had to run the collar down pretty far in order to get the axles somewhere close to level. There is still some droop. Are these springs similiar to the Kyosho blue springs? What would be a good weight oil to put in the shocks?

I think I will change to 40 wt also. I believe this will work well with the medium springs. By the way. Where are you positioning your shocks on the shock mount and A arm. Also where do you have your turnbuckle on the rear attached to shock tower?

i run 40 front and rear.my shock mounting is as follows.(front upper) inner bottom hole.(bottom) outer hole.(rear top) bottom inner hole.(bottom)center hole.(turnbuckle)top outer hole.this is what has been working for me.hope it helps.i cant recall what the kyosho springs are.but switch to 40wt all around it will help more than likley.

You are on the right track with the Mugen clutch shoes and springs. I am using 1.0 springs with carbon shoes from Mugen. I also have 1.1 and white teflon shoes but you can pick and choose your own combination. I would use the teflon shoes unless you need more slip to control tire spin on a slick, loose track.
Any other opinions out there?

i am thinkin to get a mayhem for cristmas so it would be nice for u to tell me the up sides and downsides of this buggy[sm=tongue.gif]

Let me clarify my previous post. The white teflon Mugen shoes will give you slip on loose, slick tracks so you can have less tire spin.
Anyone else have ideas on this subject?

I am really having some problems trying to keep my new Sportwerks .21 idling enough to run through the first tank. I have reset the needles to factory settings and it seems to barely pull fuel into the carb. I have set the idle up, loosened the plug, pulled on the throttle, etc. I see some air bubbles in the fuel line so I will next change out the fuel line and check the tank for leak.
Any of you have similiar problems and what were your needle settings during the initial break in period?
Thanks for your help.

does anyone have a sportwerks cyclone starter box.i just purchased one for my mayhem and the box won't even turn the motor over unless i loosen the glow plug.the engine only has about half a gallon of fuel through it. i tried it both with 2 battery packs and a sealed gel battery. is there some sort of trick using a starter box.the box has 2 550 motors or does the 2.6 have too much compression .
thanks
thanks

i use sirio on my mayhem and it can't idle for 10 tanks with several flywheel locked.
so be happy if it happened to you coz your engine could be faster than anything.
thx

Since you already did, here are couple of hints :
- Check your diff bevel gear and its crown gear for damage or missing teeth
- Check your spur gear if its still can be used
- Check the engine
- Check the tires
- Check for rounded screws or permanent thread lock applied.
- Last one, Check your chassis bent possibility (if you found them, your buggy can't be handled well)

just want to tell you that i just found great diff setup 5-5-grease.
a lot of steering.
stock setup is 5-5-1 but many ppl set it to 7-5-1.
diff setup will affect your buggy handling much, remember that.
o yea, check the shocks too

I finally got my Sportwerks .21 motor to run 1 full tank thru. I had to open the LSN up about 4 turns to get it to take in enough fuel to idle. I got it started at 2 turn but had to give gas to get it to start. It got hot and started smoking but didn't hurt anything. At first I thought the LSN was to rich at 2 turns since it sounded like it was diesling but this stopped at 4 turns. I wonder if the carb has been changed?

I am plagued with the one way bearing in the motor, that is part of the starting mechanism. It doesn't work worth a darn.
Does anyone have any suggestions, short of sending it back? If I take it apart and clean the oneway bearing out with carb cleaner its fine the next time I use it[

I have heard of some RC'ers drilling a very small hole in top and bottom of starter plate and squirting nitro cleaner in there when the one way bearing is getting fouled by the spent nitro that is not pulled into the manifold. I haven't tried this. I wonder if the hole in the bottom would allow dirt in there? Maybe drill the holes on the sides and tilt to spray into the starter plate and let drain through other side.

it's the problem with drilling start.
it require special maintenance with its one way bearing.
one way bearing is very sensitive to dirt and excesive oil.
they need to be lubed properly and will slip with inproper lubrication even can damage it.
i had enough with one way bearing and stay to put it away from me.
i've struglling with my old monster truck that use one way bearing in the tranny.
if you had enough with one way bearing in drill start, get a proper starter box.
it will help you a lot.
Rockman, your carb setting is different than others. it might be your air environment that differ too.
like air humidity or else will affect the carb setting. o yea don't forget the weather you have there.
the important thing is your engine temp is good and it perfom well and that's it. you don't need to care about how lean it is or how rich it is.
Just enjoy this thing
