Can somebody please help me. I recently purchased a Hyper 7 PBS and am having problems with the set up. All the power goes to the front wheels and hardly any to the back. I understand that i need to change the diff oils but haven't got a clue how to get to them. Is it an easy job or a mission? What weight oil or grease should i use? What do i need to dismantle?
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Many thanksa

I suggest more oz, and of course a speed of .10 and quicker though.

If all you are going to do is bash just about anything will work but if you are going to race I would recommend at least 170oz of torque and a speed of .15 or faster for steering. How much are you willing to spend for a servo? If you ever run good servos you will never go back to the cheap ones.

Hobao or Ofna?
Can someone provide some background and explain to me who currently "Owns" the Hyper 8.5 Pro Buggy?
Also, I've been to the Ofna site and looked for a manual, however I do not see a direct link for the Hyper 8.5 Pro, can someone forward?
Thanks!

Ofna doe not manufacture anything they are just an importer for HoBao and Hong Nor. Ofna is slow in doing anything so the manual might not be on there site for a while or even years. Did you check on HoBao site?

What is it you are looking for???? I have both of them the 8 and the 8.5 pro manuals and there is not much difference. Let me know what you are looking for and maybe I can send you a copy of that page. Eric

The old Hyper 8 Pro manual came with mine with an 8.5 insert/ part list. The newer ones might come with a revised one that actually says 8.5 on the front. No big deal the differences are minor and I think it is a pretty good manual.
I havn't been able to drive my 8.5 lately. I have some Advantage spoked wheels coming in with ofna yellow molded foams. I will let you know how the wheels hold up as they will be bashed with badlands on them.
One thing I find about this buggy is that it is very easy to drive and it is easy to be precise and consistent with. I like it alot! I should be able to post up pictures of it later tonight.

Hey ProcessRacing, I got to test the advantage wheels 2 race days and they have been holding up great, using them with Losi XBT tires, although, if the travel of your rear end is too low, it will rub with the wheel, something that doesn't do with ofna or proline wheels.

I'm not looking for anything specific in the manual, just more information. I'm going to be buying a buggy soon and the Hyper 8.5 Pro is one of the three I'm looking at.

ProcessRacing: it will rub the big rod end that is connected to the upright.
haasjj: the stock foams are garbage, change them if you can. The diamond tires are very good but they wear out super fast, even on dirt.

Yeah thats kinda what i thought. The tires look nice but I can tell there a soft compound they would be great on a high bite track but wear out quick. Oh well I'll mount them up and use them for racing when I get a chance, I have some other tires that are good for bashing and some for racing for my Turmoil that I can use for now.

I use a Team Helotes 2600mah battery pack on my 8.5 but if you are using the 8 you would need the updated box.
or you could get this battery:

and this charger

I had the same problem, the plastic horn was hitting the servo but I used an aluminum futaba servo horn that came with the Hyper ST PRO kit of my dad and it's perfect now!

, I preffer hobao wheels though, they look cooler.
