It's easy Ryan, they're € 16,75 for the front shocks and € 14,37 for the back.
Everybody knows that : p
-Rob
P.S. The conversion from Euros would be 20 bucks and 17 bucks.

Hello All ... this post is in hopes to update the current status of Smartechs and WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN EXPECTING (a car - not a baby)
I have a new Winner Sport 3 on it's way to me (2 Speed). I've been doing a lot of ready on this thread as well as the "Smartech" thread in the Nitro RC category. I have a few questions that I was hoping someone could answer.
I guess firstly - a general question - I'm looking for a good overview of the RC Car (nitro specifically) hobby, so I can begin to learn more about how some of the parts work and therefore anticipate problems I may encounter. so
1) anyone have a good link to a site that has a thourough background on Nitro RC's?
Next is that it seems that over the last year these smartech's have gone from an almost unheard of to having a cult following (that would be you guys
and I guess now me). It does seem there have been some improvements from the winner sport to the 2 and the 3. I guess the most considerable advancement is that the engine at first seemed to be almost guaranteed to fail, while the latest .15 (cxp? I have the cxo on mine) seems to have a better track record.
2) So - is it true some of the parts have been doing better.
3) which parts are still trouble parts. From what i can tell the clutch is still plastic and lends itself to melting. And the shocks still pretty much suck. The radio stinks but I did get a failsafe for now. The servo is not great.
THis leads me to the next thing. I saw on excell hobby it seems they have a greater range of parts than even a few months ago. For example on this page http://excelhobby.com/excel_hobby_032.htm they have a set of aluminum shocks.
4) Is there a reason I have only seen poeple doing cross car hybrids with some of these parts still? Or is it just that they are that new? Is the replacement clutch on here still plastic and going to melt?
Lastly - I have heard the servos are weak, but I don't see those on the site. How do I know which servos will work with this car (very newbie question I'm sure) or are they fairly universal? I heard someone say get metal servo (I guess the arms). Is there a brand in particular that work wel with these buggies? Also - do you have to do this when you update the radio or can you do those two things seperately
Thanks for any replies

hi and welcome to the smartech cult, hehe
well:
1. Here are some tutorials about nitro cars, so these should help - http://www.hpi-europe.com/walkthroughs.php?lang=en
2. Yea parts have greaty improved, i can crash into stuff harder with out anythin breaking
3. Yea they still have plastic clutches which are unpredictable
, Ive had 1 last over 3months and then ive had 1 thats lasted only a week. But Ive got an alloy 1 in now. You can pick 1 up up for like £10. When i first got my buggy, i had trouble with pins in driveshafts coming out and cogs in the diffs snapping, but its fine now. The standard electrics are crap, theyre good enough to use, but your first mod should be to upgrade the electrics.
4. The clutch on excelhobby is plastic
5. Servos are completely universal except the scale size, e.g - a 1/5th scale servo wont fit on a 1/10th car. Also when we mean metal servos, we mean the cogs inside are metal. And with upgrading the electrics, you can buy kits that include the servos and reciver - or you can buy them spereately.
Ryan.

Hi Guys,
I'm new to nitro rc cars, I have a smartech winner sport. I have had it for about a year now and haven't had too many problems with it. It has been running fine and I have been happy with it. But just today I started it up and straight away it revved up to full throttle and would not stop. I had no control over it and I could not stop the engine...I eventually stopped it by turning the adjustment needle.
I hope you guys can help me.
Thanks
Jake

Hi there,
I'm a complete newbie, but you all seem quite friendly, so I hope that continues with me. I recently bought an acme condor off ebay, which I think is pretty much a smartech speedy tiger. It was really an impluse buy with no knowlege, so then while waiting for it to be delivered, I read some things slamming smartech and acme cars, and got rather scared that I had wasted my money. Luckily driving the car around a bit, and reading this forum, my mind has been put at rest a bit. The car I bought was sold as ready broken in, [link=http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6015993715]http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6015993715[/link], and I got it started with very little difficulty. It seems to run without any problems, and i've gone through 3 tanks while giving it full throttle and really thrashing it, without any stalling etc, but I'm not sure if the exhaust should be giving off such huge clouds of white smoke as it does, especially when accelerating from a standing start. Also the engine seems rather loud. I havent tuned it at all from the settings I received it on, and would appreciate either advice or reassurance that everything is okay from you experts before I do.
Thanks in advance, Jez

My Winner Sport did put out alot of white smoke
(when it was working)
HI, I just wanted to share a pic of my Smartech Winner which I've had for about 2 years now. The only mods are the air filter, shocks and rechargeable battery. I have replaced the chasis after loosing radio signal and slamming into a concrete curb at full throttle. I love this hobby!!!

Thanks! I think this is one of the best nitro cars for beginners. Parts are available on several websites (http://www.raidentech.com) and cheap too! I mean where else can you get a shock tower for one dollar? This is a great little car for bashing. ANybody ha[:@]ve any horror pics of their car? Would love to see some!

Hey Killme - now that's how a RC car should look!!
Nice and dirty
Thanks for the help Ryan. I will definitly read up on that page you sent.
So are the aluminum ones on excel hobby going to be good then?
somewhat off topic - I noticed the Himoto's on ebay seem pretty similarly built but perhpas even a little tougher (more aluminum rather than plastic, etc). Has anyone had experience with those? Will they be the next cult followed car (or is there a following already?)

They are threaded adjustable shocks so you can adjust them to your preforance. I had mine set a bit to stiff and broke my shocktower after I hit a curb.
(Left side in pic) Nothing happend to the shocks though. shocks $20.00. Shock tower $1.00. I think the aluminum shocks are definitely worth getting. The K&N air filter I got off Ebay. I originaly bought it for my T-maxx but like the way it looked better on the Smartech. Does any one know if the O.S. Max .18CV-R would be a direct fit for the Winner?
