Hi Dave, Some people claim pigs can fly and witness to it...after a long night of heavy consumption In this case pretty sure Vr wouldn't be achieved ... good catch sorry I made the error.

OK, here come the questions. I started my build today, I'm starting on the wings 1st. To drop the Pro-Link electrics in, it looks like it needs some dremeling to fit to whole unit in. Where the electric gear meets the top of the wing, the factory formed U shape needs to be dremeled/sanded to fit it in right? I don't want to remove to much material.

The stock gear is designed to have 1/8" packers under the mounting lugs. (C-36-2) There are pre cut plywood rectangles with holes ready for the behotec gear.
Depending on the lug thickness/mounting screw type, you should be able to pack. With CSK screws you have more clearance on the cover plate

Well the big day has finally arrived :-) It's finally in my garage. FedEx delivered to Oroville WA on Friday, the broker brought it across on Tuesday, but I couldn't pick it up from them until today. Like others,,, it's been a long wait. Big shout out to FedEx.... Only a couple of minor scuffs on the top and bottom of the shipping carton - nothing that would cause any damage. Unpacked the works and an initial inspection found that everything listed on the packing slip was accounted for,,, and there was no damage to anything. I'm a happy camper.
Couldn't resist throwing the wing and stab on for a quick look see. Mannnn... I have never installed wings and stab with such little effort for a proper fit. Everything lines up perfectly and the four bolts drop right in. If the rest goes together as precisely and easily, I'll be a real happy camper.

Well, I got the main gear temp installed. Had to remove a bit of material to get it to fit properly. I'm installing the Pro-Link Electric gear. Here's a photo just to let you know the amount of material that needs to be removed

Break out the dremel and remove a lot of that ridge, if you lay the aileron/flap servo plate in place you will see. It leaves around 3/16 lip and tabs for the screw fixings.

The amount that you had to take out of the u-shape former.... was that in addition to using packers under the retract units, or not?
Thanks,
Steve

My Pro-Links lay flat on their own with the material removed. I'll take a photo with them in when I get home. I did grind pretty much that U shape to accommodate the square shape of the retract housing

Sorry, not the mount. The wing skin lip. The servos mount to the U/C carbon cover plate and that ply assy needs to clear the wing skin lip

Hi Dave. I think your last post was for 737 Driver, but I think the wing skin lip was already clear. I remember you mentioning that some time back in this thread. Thanks.

Hi FMRR. Yeah, you must have a good sense of awesome colour schemes :-). I'll be getting a later start as well. I've got a Jet Rally in Princeton Jume 2-5 and my goodie box is still at Dreamworks waiting for special order battery and Jet Tech tanks.

My Feedback: (57)
Back in the day we dialed thrust and used a radar.. we hit 200 with 22 lb thrust in a flat out blast with out the bypass.. so it will fly on 22lb P80 all day nicely.. It will fly on a 100 size engine and break 200 and go uphill nicely too, same as a bandit.. we have had them in the same pattern with identical 100 engines, and they were basically the same speed.. 200 passes all day.
What I like about it over a bandit is its toughness, and it lands easier without the bandits tendencies to tip stall because of the washout

OK, main gear temp installed. One main centers in the wheel well perfectly, the other one is off center slightly. Any ideas how to center up that one main?

Just a photo of the main gear mount surface. Dave, are you referring to the flange pointed out by my arrow, as far as taking a dremel to it? Also quick question. Servo arm length for both aileron and flap servos? I'm sure it's pointed out here somewhere. Should have wing done here in a few days. Thank you all
