Here's what cavitation looks like. This is on a 200 size turbine with the pump running at full power. It is amazing how much flow is required to feed a thirsty turbine.

I had this set up with felt clunks in the saddle tank which added a lot to the flow resistance. I did have a flame out and dead stick landing which led to this test.

Got rid of the felt clunks and went to one of the new Intairco UAT's. Using the 6mm PU tubing. All problems solved.

Is that 6mm tubing in the main tanks or in the air trap.

I have a couple of mercury's and a K 170. I never plumbed a fuel system with a UAT. I use 1/8" ID Viton on the supply to the pump and keep it as short as possible. The pumps push better than they suck. Has anyone ever done a test to see how much air in the line it takes to flame out an engine?

There is nothing wrong with felt clunks...I use nothing else all the way through P-200RX's.
BUT, the std type supplied by many companies including CARF has a very small hole. (it can be drilled out) We had these inners made with 3.2 and 4.8mm id supplies and lots of perforations.
Pump voltage figures are very low and all the fuel gets used in all tank shapes.

stock felt on left and our two.

Where can I get those fittings? They have been backordered for 3 months now at Chief and I can't fly my JSF waiting on them. I specifically need the 1" bonded sleeve with the screw on fuel feed nipple/oring.

Thanks,
David

Well noted Dave, the felt clunks I used were EXACTLY the one on the left. They were the ones provided by Skymaster.

Steve

For some reason Tillotson reduced the hole size sometime ago, great in petrol models and 20-35N turbines, not much good on bigger. Some have a 2.2mm hole!

I am coming up with 3/16" and 1/4" fittings.
Should be available within 5 days.

Well, I think that you will like my new design:

http://www.ultimate-jets.net/collect...vent-fitting-1

It is accepting 1/4" tygon tubes directly!
The tubes are available in our fuel hardware section as well:

I believe that I have the most comprehensive and best priced selection of High Flow and Ultra High Flow accessories on the market. This is because all of this is in-house and custom designed and CNC produced!
I needed a complete range of professional fuel system hardware for our UAV operations. Since I could not find what I wanted on the market, I decided to make it myself!
Thus the purchase of the Siemens Sinumerik CNC lathe and CNC milling centers...

Oli thats perfect, i bought a set of bvms hi-flow vents and for some reason they are smaller than the ID of all the other Hi-flow items. I i know air resistance is less than fluid but because of this I used two vents on my P200 setup which required me to add two vent fittings on the tank. I would rather only run one vent since its easier for taxi tank usage and just less things to add to the fuel system.

You got it!

This one is a flush type, 1/4" ID brass vent.

If you want to plug a taxi tank, you'll have the option to use the bulkhead fitting in 1/4" ID.
I am also working on a simple and very light o'ring based quick disconnect system.

I think I was misunderstood. What I need is one of those 1" metal flanges that you bond to the tank, similar to the BVM ones, where you screw the fuel pick up fitting with an o-ring.
You have something similar but it uses a rubber stopper with pass through tubing for vent and fuel feed.

Ill post a pic when I get home.

I don't have this in my designs yet. I could make one, but why would you chose this over a rubber stopper type?

I guess I got used to BVMs design, where you have a short barbed fitting on both sides, vs having a slightly longer stright pass-through tube for tygon to attach too. But there is no real practical benefit.
In my case, I already have on on my RHS tank so I'd like to match the LHS. But I should be able to use yours if I have to. Its a great design, no doubt about it.

If I cant get the one on backorder by the end of month, I'll deffinetly order yours.

If you can't get it, I can also machine one for you. I'd need the dimensions and thread definition.
