Hey All,
My name is Brett Smith and I wish to give all the Aussie and Kiwi Jet-Joe owners out there a "heads-up", I am based in Sydney and I am now an official Jet-Joe service and repair agent and will primarily be looking after our Aussie and Kiwi friends, however, anybody from other countries who wish to send their JJ engine to me for service or repair are more than welcome. I hope to have all my service, diagnostic and repair facilities setup by early in the new year.
At this time I will only be offering service and repair of Jet-Joe engines, Joe has indicated he would like me to become a Jet-Joe "new engine dealer" in the near future. I will be doing this as a part-time sideline to my normal daily job of helicopter turbine engine and fuel control overhaul and repair.
I have been in the aviation turbine industry for more than 25 years and I hope this will help with my efforts to support the JJ owners out there.
Joe will shortly be shipping a full range of Jet-Joe spares and accessories to me so I can support the JJ1200/1400 and JJ1800 engine owners, these will be available to all. I can also offer a full engine testing and individual Fadec tuning service for each engine. A nice new electronic turbine balancing machine, ultrasonic bearing and fuel nozzle cleaning service will be available.
A conversion service of the JJ1200 to JJ1400 will be provided if the customer wishes.
A magnetic particle and flourescent penetrant crack detection service for the engine rotatives will be available if anybody so desires.
If anybody wishes to contact myself you'll find all my contact details here on the Jet-Joe website:
http://www.jetjoe.com/htm.php?nowmenuid=9648
Please feel free to drop me an email or call the phone numbers provided and i'll organise to help you out as best I can.
Cheers to all from down under and I hope to be able to provide all JJ engine owners with a quick, quality reliable turnaround service for all your engine repair and servicing needs.
All the best,
Smithy.

Guys,
ANY IDEA where i could find the manual of the JJ1400 Auto Start Nades ECU ?
Can you give us the number off the front of the Fadec unit?, (for example, mine has AU-540 written on it), there are several different versions and revisions to each, however Gaspar Espiel has a manual available for nearly all his units or you can ask here:
http://www.xicoy.com/foros/index.php?board=7.0
Although his english is not the best, Gaspar is allways happy to help as best he can and he supports his Fadec/ECU's very well.
Cheers,
Smithy.

Hey All,
I know some of you are receiving the new "REGAL FADEC/ECU's" with your new Jet-Joe engines, so I thought I'd provide a manual for you.
Seems I can't upload a "word document" here, If anybody would like a copy, let me know and i'll email one to you, or at least do my best to help you out.
This manual covers the new REGAL FADEC/ECU shipped with the JJ1200, JJ1400 and JJ1800 engines.
I hope it helps some of you.
Cheers,
Smithy

My Feedback: (1)
Hi,
I just got my new JJ1800 from Jetjoeus (Gabe).
He send me mail for a service bulletin to change two O-rings that support the front BB.
After opening the blue case, I found somthing that I'm not sure for it.
There's a small plastic with a needle inside the fuel line.
Can someone tell me if it's normal ? what it's doing there ? (Pictures attached)
Thanks.

Hi i3dm
I got service bulletin from Gabe regarding the 2 O-rings that support the front BB.
Gabe advise me to send the engine back for quick repair or do it my self.
I choose the second option...
But everything went well and I will do test run tomorrow for the first time with the JJ1800.

I guess the closest would be either Gabe Brown at www.jetjoeus.com or Mark Harper at: www.jetjoecentral.com
You could also go direct to Joe himself at: www.jetjoe.com
Contact details are on each of their websites.
Cheers,
Smithy.
PS: FW beat me to it, sorry!

My first few runs weren't getting max rpms.I don't recall exactly what I was getting but it was somewhere around what you're getting. Now I'm getting around 110k. The only thing I noticed different was that my ecu/pump battery is reading higher after charging than it was after the initial charge. It may be your battery.

No,
Everything seems to be fine. but only 102K

How did you eliminate a fuel pump issue? Have you tried swapping out to a known good pump? Have you verified that there are absolutely no possible fuel restrictions or possible leaks? Verified the battery is capable of the necessary voltage/amps?

Hi Woketman,
Everything is new, just got it...
The fuel pump is FlightWorks 400B, all fuel line are fresh new and clear from any restrictions.
The battery is new (sanyo 1800) and I did 3 cycles with normal reading from the charger.
there is no hotspot when running, just nice red ring.
Maybe I need to change settings in the ECU ?

I have a question for the more learned amoung us, I wish to have a "real time" readout of the engine's rpm, egt, pump voltage etc... I would like to be able to use my laptop computer to view these perameters, is there a software package and cable available which I can use to connect to my PC?
