Hey Buck,

I just got it, I will go through the box and post photos later this evening. The Box is kinda heavy, I had asked for some paint samples for the F-16 and the F-15, I wonder if they sent a gallon of that stuff[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Later,
Mike

Mike

awesome news. I'm sure many are looking forward to the pix. we'll see how they hold up to regular use but you can't beat the price regardless.

cheers

Ya, same here, up to 45 days...
Must have run out of stock. Not entirely suprised with those prices. Love to compare it with the SM F-16 and note the differences. I am puzzled as to why Skymaster Tiger Meet is more than twice the price.
Guess I'll have to wait and find out.
I got a message that the delivery time is 16-20 business days on the 14th December when I paid the invoice. My tiger meet F-16 left the factory yesterday, so maybe you get lucky and also get the plane faster than promised.

I will compare this bird to SM's tiger meet F-16 definitely because my friend is just putting one together. According to the pics seen here, it seems that the SM's paint job is better. But we'll see.

Well, just ordered the camo rafale. Now comes the waiting game, they emailed saying that it would be 30 to 45 days but then emailed back saying it probably wouldn't be produced until Feb 15ish, shipped by March 2nd, so I guess we'll see what happens.
Looking forward to it, has anyone got a rafale yet? or have any been shipped? Thanks

The Rafale is not in production yet, so no one has one. Based on prior postings I'd guess that they will be busy filling F-16 & F-15 orders throughout January. Since they will be closed Feb 1 - 14 for Chinese New Year, it makes sense for them to start producing the Rafale after that.

Buck and all,

Gentlemen,

The Eagle has landed

Sweet mother of Jesus, this thing is huge, I am not sure how I am gonna carry it to the flying field. I may just fly it off my subdivision.[sm=lol.gif]

A few paint blemishes here and there mostly form their spray gun that may have not been cleaned well or the paint to air mixture must have not been optimum[sm=cry_smile.gif]. One gear does not deploy [sm=devious.gif], I am not sure what is wrong, but can’t be that hard to figure out. One stab has two small holes in it [sm=48_48.gif], does not appear to be from shipping, I am sure they will replace it. Other than that all adhesive joints look great, all parts are there and accounted for. They installed the gear doors, looks pretty good.[sm=thumbs_up.gif]

Here is a link to a photo show that I created for your viewing pleasure. http://photoshow.comcast.net/watch/Xk5rC5Iq
Oh yeh, they sent in some sample paint, one of the bottles leaked a bit, thank god it was well packed and did not get on the plane. Man the stuff stinks, I have smelled all kind of chemicals in my profession, but this takes your breath away (I really mean away). I guess OSHA does not have an office there.[sm=lol.gif]

Happy New year to All,

Mike

Hi Jack,

Yes, DHL still has it. The F-16 arrived at DHL in Romulus Saturday morning. I hoped it would be delivered Christmas Eve. I could understand not getting it then since I'm sure they were very busy that day. When DHL's website showed it still in Romulus this morning I called them to find out why it wasn't out for delivery. The gal said it was probably an oversight and that they'll deliver it tomorrow.

Seems ironic that it took about 24 hours to get there from Hong Kong and 5 days for the last 10 miles.

That's about average for DHL, at least IME with them. worst case for me was a replacement boom i had shipped from Boomerang Jets, from them in TX to here is a 2 day GND trip, after 3 weeks i got a call from a guy in New Jersey saying the boom was just delivered to him even though it clearly had my name/address/phone number on the DELIVER TO section. dunno how New Jersey became a destination on a trip from Texas to Alabama..........during that whole time their site had the way bill tracked as sitting in Pensacola, FL

Hi Joe, how long does it take you to receive your products from the time you placed the order? It seems that they have a long backlog.

Mike,

I placed my order and cleared payment through Paypal on 12/10, just before they got real busy, and was told that they would ship within 7 business days. They shipped it on 12/18 (6 business days). DHL shows it out for delivery today (12/27), so that's another 6 business days for delivery. Delivery would have been sooner except we had Christmas and a weekend in there.

Still waiting for the truck.

Joe,
Fire up the digital camera in preparation for delivery of your new jet, inquiring minds need to see photos.

Joe,

You are lucky. I guess I should had grabbed your plane while I was visiting their factory on the 12th. I saw a few F16s in painting process. Any orders after the 15th will have a significant delay.

I had placed a bundled orders for our club members, enough to push back any order for one month.

I am leaving for China next week, anyone wants to bundle orders with us? Let me know, so I can squeeze them into our orders.

Keith,

Did you mount the supplied air cylinders as shown in the instruction manual on FEJ's website?
Are you saying that when mounted in the recommended location it doesn't work correctly?

The DHL truck finally showed up. My first impression was that the box was too small.

It appears to be packed well. The sides, top and bottom are lined with thin plywood.

All of the major components were double wrapped, first with a thin foam sheet then bubble wrap.
In spite of that there were a few dings and scratches, plus one former under the cockpit is cracked. The heavy hardware bags could have been secured a bit better inside the fuse.

None of that is too big a deal. I'd say the quality is very good for the price. There are several places where there is some overspray, but overall the plane looks good. As far as I can tell nothing is missing. A few things I didn't like are the hatch latches, the tailcone doesn't fit well, and I wish there was some instructions on how to adjust the oil damped struts and air up the tires.

The hatch latch lever screws into what resembles a wheel collar to keep it together and they were all loose. I'll have to put some thread locker on them otherwise they might come apart in flight. With a little bit of sanding I should be able to get the tailcone on. I'd like the struts to be stiffer. I'll have to take them out to see if I can figure out how.

The formers all seem to be glued in fine with no obvious gaps. First impression is that it is a great value for the money, as has been prerviously reported by others. Here it is about 10 minutes after unwrapping everything. If anyone would like any specific pictures let me know.
