Is it rearly pink, or is that just the picture.

Intersted to know why you went for the G-Booster instead of the Evo-Jet?

Mike,
guess I'm better at modelling than photography!
Pictures taken with camera phone & crap!
Booster was a one off deal from my mate Dave W.
Got the main wing done now. Had to fit small wedges under retracts to get wheels low enough in wells to clear with correct toe in. I noted others have similar experiences.
One would have cleared but did both to keep angle of oleos the same with gear down. Used 6mm fuel tube to guide & secure brake hose to oleo (see pic).
I used carbon fibre pushrods on flaps with JR 8511 servos., 8411's on ailerons, 8711's on elevator, 8411 on rudder.
Just cut out around small door to clear oleo. One niggle I have is that if you use counter sunk screws to secure retracts, there's no way it can be done without having to remove
material from wing beyond the area covered by the little covers. Comparf could have made them a little wider!
Can't wait for decent weather to fly it now!!!
BTW my kit has short bolts for wing securing too! need to get a couple of 60mm x 4mm.
Will post again after maiden.

Hi Folks,
Found out the Pilot and tub out of my 1/6th scale J.L. F-16 drops staight in the this hawk so looks like he's got two to fly now, just got to get the other half
to knit him a red suit!!
Took the Hawk down to the strip for it's Maiden but it was blowing a bitter crosswind so bottled out!
Put it together and carried out all the ground testing, range checks, steering tracking etc. Ran up the turbine and tested fuel system, E.G.T. etc at full rpms.
All Ok so then reduced the max revs on the 160+ booster to 119,000rpm same as the 130, more than adequate I'm sure!
I was really impressed by the steering/tracking/ground handling on this model, the sports undercarriage really is superb!
Went home and thawed my fingers out, there'll be better days I'm sure!!

Sorry about bolts, I can send you a pair of 60mm bolts if you need. All the packing mistakes have now been sorted for future kits

Hi Dave,
thanks for the offer but it wasn't a problem really as my local "Fenland Fastenings" had a boxfull at 15p each
so I bought half a dozen so's I can leave a couple in my car, and a couple in my flight box for those "senior moments" that
seem to be occuring with a worrying increased frequency................now what was I doing..........oh yes, now where do I find that
"OK" button, ah.... there it is!

Another Hawk is ready to fly Sunday. We are lucky to have an expert builder in Roger, who can help busy customers with their dreams. More shots on Sunday when I'll test fly it. JR DSX-12 ([8D]) P120SX and scale gear. Cockpit is coming! Happy owner Colin

Extremely happy with how my hawk has come out, I'm really looking forward to flying it on Sunday.

Roger you are an absolute craftsman - I spent a lot of last night looking at all the nice touches you've done in the build. If I can get my Der Jet Cougar anywhere near as tidy as the install on this one I will be very chuffed.

My wife is setting next to me as I type this and thinks I have an unhealthy relationship with inanimate objects - she's not far wrong She was asking if I was stroking the hawk in the pic Dave posted above - of course I was - doh!

Cheers Dave for taking the time to get the setup dialed in the same as your hawk. Fingers crossed for maiden tomorrow [8D]

Hi guys, just to put in the final report. Finally got to maiden the Hawk today. What a machine! I set the elevator neutral to Dave Wilshire's recommendation and never had to touch it.
In fact I didn't alter anything from his instructions. Travel throws, C.G. etc all just to my liking. Slowest, sweetest flying hawk I have ever flown ( and it's my 13th so was just a little bit edgy first go!).
Comp ARF have really hit the sweet spot with this one. Go buy, Go fly, you know you want one!!
Well done Comp ARF, Thanks Motors and Rotors for convincing me to have one more go at a Hawk!

Good job...and about time! Get onto Taylor made decals for a Hawk set...transforms it. Seem everyone is happy with their CARF Hawk, if you are a flier and not a poser it seems to be the one!
Abingdon friday?

Guys

Early Xmas this morning, I've unpacked both a Comp ARF Corsair and the new Hawk kit

The Hawk is a first production item sent ahead so I can help with the building notes. I'll keep everyone posted and do a build thread as I go. (won't start for a few days as I've got another Hawk on the board to finish-Eflite EDF!!)

So far I think they have another winner!

It looks great....Have safe flights

Hi Dave,
yes must get round to ordering the rest of the decal set. Got the cockpit detonator lines (they were fun to fit!) and they
really do wonders for that big cockpit.
Yes definately going to Abingdon Friday, see you there.

Hi guys,
I flew the hawk again today. What a joy to fly! It's the only Hawk I've ever flown that I can totaly relax with and fly like a sports plane.
You can knife edge horizon to horizon with just minor corrections. Really impressive and best of all it lands as easy as a boomerang!
Ordinarily I would say don't fly a hawk unless you have a good understanding of flight dynamics but with this one, if you can fly a boomerang you'll
have no problems with this bird.
I am sooooooo happy with mine!
