Will fly without smoke at first but will probably add it later. The Flash wing tank fits under the C-ARF main tank and is perfect for smoke fluid.

I'll post more shots later this week

Dave... did you have to add any weight up front to achieve the 7" balance point?

Still not finished the install, very busy work week last week scuppered my plan to have it finished, but I expect to have all the batteries in the nose, no weight expected. But I will fit Ejection seats and a pilot. The install board wants to be towards the front, plus valves etc.

No in the next week, probably test fly at Scampton next weekend-been a bit slow with staff having holidays and me having to work longer hours than my usual 12!, plus shows, family etc etc.

Dave

Surely time to start delagating or get that web site sorted.........then I can order the two 3301's (I stripped yesterday) when no ones in.

Very impressed with the lack of weight in the hawk shell had a look at Andy B's.

Reason found for my crash...

CG was to critical aft..
elevator throws where to much.
causing it to snap out and wing over.

to bad....

I'm having to shim the mains up a little to avoid the air connector on the bottom from hitting the wing surface
it's quite tight there!!!

Sandor, you were correct about difficulties in creating a "tub" for the main wheels!

Dave: do you have a solution for the inner end of the main door cover? possibly hinging at the bottom
and moving it with a strut from the main?

I used RCJETMODELS hinges, very easy to use..no gluing, no brass rods

sorry but i wont tell mine..
just because it could happen other guys will use these settings and have issue,s.
i correctly used the CG and throwsas recomended a few weeks ago.
this is a good lesson to better get pictures that show the actual CG then a phoneline CG and trow..
i lost my Hawk due to this wrong setting..

so how about that nosewheel does it stick out?

also i recomend you use 3 hinges , these are plastic right?.
the doors are fragile ..

I was going to hinge the door and fit a small spring, but this Hawk is supposed to be a sports model and doors always cause trouble so I cut the plate to clear....When I build my second one as a scale model I'll hinge them.

regards

I realise re reading your earlier post, you know you can turn over the cylinder so the nipple is up (lower skin on the wing) no packing needed then

OK it's all in there now, Ionly had to use 1/32" so I will leave it for now, I just didn't want to damage that fitting...
any updates on CG?

ALSO have you ever used a JETTRONICSdoor sequencer?

7" is a good safe starting point. I am going to set mine at 7 1/4" back having spoken to the designer and hearing he has tried 7 3/4" back and was happy.

Yes, I've used the Jet Tronics Seq in an Airworld Panther
