That is a big difference.. Just checked my scale.
Piece of cheese according to supermarket: 617 grams
According to my scale: 616 grams
Wingtube: 390 grams
Length: 99cm
Don't know if all the tubes are the same, but I have an extruded one with alu 'webbing' inside
I guess you all ordered the light pro version of the viper

I got the info from my local Skymaster rep. I seem to remember that someone a few months ago, on a Viperjet forum, said his wing tube bent in normal flight. Perhaps the tube was modified to include the webbed centre section. Presumably the 220gram tube would have been just an empty tube? Perhaps Ali or one of the other reps can add more info?

. Sandor, you could make a nice light & strong carbon fibre aftermarket version.

My Feedback: (39)
If you have the wing tube with the 3 braces leading into a smaller center tube - don't use it. I plan on replacing the one that came with my kit as I have seen one bend on a buddy's plane that should not have done so. TBM sells one for about 70 bucks:

Just build in the first front oleo for the Viperjet to see if it fit in.
Everything is OK, it fits perfect.
Only thing to do is take the old oleo out and take the wheel out from it.
Then screw the wheel in the new oleo and put it back in the retract.
After this you only need to switch the servoarm to the other side.
Regards Ron.

I would have thought you would not have got a better tube than the one with the web ,Mine has come out at just under 400gm 990 mm long .

We just finisched making the upper part for the Viperjet nose oleo,we expect to finish the rest next week.(Fork).
for all customers who purchased our main oleoset we offer a upgrade for the front oleo for just 50 euro,s.
the front spring will also be a lot softer then our mains have , we use our proven spring we use for many years in our Flash/lightning/boomerang models.
the Cool thing is we will supply as a ''optional'' a front brake.
i am using a front brake for a long time now (on my flash) , based on our smaller 25mm brake we use on our 60 mm wheels.
you can make full power starts without moving , and shortens your landings if you almost run out of Tarmac or grassfield
the Oleo will also be a drop in fit , all you do is exchange your front wheel and steering pin.
we will be also suppllying a new Front pin 8mm that is longer then the stock one.
i think they can be delivered in the middle of march.

Hi, all
We at Skymaster are aware of the problem and have mailed all customers that need repalcement of wing tubes. Tomorrow i will post the pictures to show difference between the 2. The alluminium supplier in China let us down. We always order the same batch and same code. But this time we found the extruded pipe (web inside) have problems. We never checked again because the codes and supplier never changed.
So if you have not receive an e-mail and think you have a problem, please send us e-mail. Or wait the pictures tomorrow you can check by yourself.
Sorry for this problem.
Best Regards
Anton

I also have the extruded pipe. Does it mean all extruded pipes are bad?
I think I'd like to get a replacement wingtube just to be sure. Mine is a bit damaged (scored) at the end anyway..

Dunc, I've got the same one
At least it's an easy swap ..
Mine's also almost finished - just installed the smoke-tank and air-vents. Waiting for some 'poxy to dry, and I can screw the turbine back. Fuse is done then
