Hi, Can someone please post the recommended throws for the surfaces and the recommended CG for the Tomahawk MK-66 Hawk. I bought a used Hawk and would like to verify all the setup.
Thanks

Started out with the recommended CG. After first couple oflandings move the 2 life 3600MAH from the front below the pilot to behind themain wheels. I still can't hold the nose up long on landing. That is supposedto be way to tell if you are close.
I am not sure of the throws. I do use a lot of expo. I haveabout 55% expo with 80% movement on the ailerons. They are very sensitive. Ihave as much throw on the elevator as movement will allow without touching thefuse. I also use about 40% expo on it.
Let me know how it goes with the Tomahawk.

Got the maiden in today, I had a friend Andy Benitez do the maiden, just to get the nerves out of the equation.I did the second and third flights,And Andy did the fourth, very little trimming and on CG ajustment.plane flew on rails. I will be playing with the aileron throws and expo which I thought were not enough and they are set as per spec. ,Maybe that the gyro is holding theroll rate. on my second flight got a wheelie landing so the CG is almost perfect. Overall VERY VERY happy with the results

you are correct Scott, it is compressed. Did you get the springs from Tomahawk? How much were they? How much of a hassle was it to change out the springs?
thanks roy

Hi Roy,
First was the stall speed with flaps or without? guessing without. I think the stall speed with flaps will get in the 30's
Yes they came from Tomahawk. I don't think he charged, cant remember. You can open the strut up. C clip. Its a little pain especially after the strut cover is on. pull out your old springs. I think there are 3. take them to your local hardware store and see if you can find better ones. Or contact tomahawk. The squatting can actually make your strut door hit ground on landing and break off. As well the scale appearance being off. When a Hawk is up and running and taxiing it sits high in back. when powered down and off it does squat but not as dramatic as the model does with weak springs.
