RE: Viper Jet 2M Pointers/ tips.
Mine is on order, I'm planning to paint it myself in the T-45 scheme.. not scale Iknow but Ilike that scheme
Turbine will be an older Simjet 3000 unit.. more than needed but Ican only fly from grass so the extra push is good there
Also this motor just sips fuel at part thrust which is all that Iwill need...
Futaba guidance, duralite baselog for power redundancy..
now if would just get here!!!
THANKS TO ALL FOR THE GREAT INFORMATION IN THIS THREAD

Great video When i get back on Friday i'm going to finish the polishing then put her away until i get my falcon 120 copy finished or the backlog will just get bigger!
Anyone thought about adding lights to the v2m? I have the landing lights that came with my airpower EVSD-5U-EVO - I was thinking of mounting one on the nosegear leg in but where to put the other two?

RE: Viper Jet 2M Pointers/ tips.
My viper turned up last week and i unpacked it and was checking every piece and i was extremely happy with the quality of my yellow in the mould viper . Until the last piece was unpacked the fuse , it had a large crack in it as the wing had put presure on it on the trip to Australia .Some things still even move in a box when packed in shipping . I spoke to John at Skymaster and then he spoke to Anton they made me a offer to make me happy . Great backup service from both guys making sure the customer is happy .They even have sped up the delivery time in geting the new plane to me . Thanks

For what it's worth, I used Futaba S 9551 servos in my 2M Viper elevators, a perfect fit!!!!
see pics
I have also decorated the plane in the new Patuxent NAS Viper Squadron scheme (similar to the T-45)
pictures will be forthcoming

RE: Viper Jet 2M Pointers/ tips.
I also changed the LGstruts from straight to Trailing Link Type
since Ican only fly from Grass!
These are fine units from Digitec
Not scale I know but MUCH more pratical for grass operation!!!

RE: Viper Jet 2M Pointers/ tips.
model number for the oleos? I was going to send my SM oleos to sandor so he could measure up and create/find a set of oleos that fit - guess i don't need to now.
Did you retain the nose oleo or use a trailing link?

Something to share:
Ihad difficulty in getting reliable operation of the main LGunits that came with my plane
Ifinally had to disassemble them and do this:
1. Polish the main shaft that supports the trunnion as it was very tight (held in by 2, 4 mm screws)
2. Disassemble the air cylinders and polish the shaft as it was quite sticky
where it protrudes through the oring embedded in the cylinder end
3. Put BVMair cyl lube in the cylinders
4. What made the biggest difference however is that Ihad to remove some metal
on both sides of the sideplates that enabled the mecanism to freely operate in the "extend"position (gear down)
otherwise the gear(s)would not go down reliably except under high pressure.
After all of the above mods, they now operate down to 30 or so PSI!
See pics.. lookfor the small arrow... Ifiled here...

Hey Guys,
I ordered my Viper in all white. Also with the canopy and frame un-cut and uninstalled so that I could tint the plexi.
I went with a civilian type (hot rod) paint scheme and left out the cockpit and just went with a light pilot to off-set the weight of the paint.
Should have it ready to test fly next weekend. Jim
