I will have no problem selling you something. What do you fancy? It cant be too much building. I cant have you tied up doing your own models... Thats just taking the biscuit!
I have a nice F-86 ready to go ( Just needs a turbine and painting ) LOL

Ali and Anton....... that's a stunning model. I was looking at the exact same scheme, but now that the A-10 is supposed to be coming out, maybe I'll just wait a little bit. Uhmmm..... who knows, maybe I have to go with the two of them

Ali, your thoughts about the "bite" are correct. The real one was a real peach to fly until the moment of departure, it gave very little warning. We had a "spin book" in the squadron with the departure, spin characteristics of each jet. It was part of every briefing we did where air to air combat maneuvering was planned. It's a beautiful jet. I have been gathering pictures of my old Air Force bird so when I order one it will look just like mine did 30 years ago.

Hi, here are pictures of my T33. Italian Air Force MM 51-1753-6 ( ex USAF 51-17536 ) coded 53-26 based in Cameri Air Force Base in service to 53° Stormo as liason/training aircraft from 1 April 1967 to December 1979 when was grounded due lack of spares. The model looks naked but I'm preparing more then 200 nomenclature decals to finish the details.

Hey Gooseman.
I had a look and I am sure there is no Canuck in me
Dont be surprised. You guys up north have a habit of putting some pretty nice schemes on a variety of jets.... The funny thing is that I have just ordered a full markings set for my Big F-86 thats in need of painting... .and guess what? Yep! Yet another Canadian scheme.
Regards Al
TP777: Thanks for the heads up. I will keep that in mind and maybe leave out the short/ tight finals from my displays.
I am pretty sure its just my T33 flying now. Morne has a Unpainted F-80 flying in South Africa, but other than that I dont know of any. We did both get early ( Pre production models) Mine took a little longer as it needed to be painted and the markings made and applied.
I wont be bringing it to Cali no. Shipping models to the U.S has always been a pain and expensive, but it just got a whole load worse [:@]

Hey Ali,
Speaking of theme's,
Ya currently the CF-18 that goes on the airshow circuit here in Cananda has different themes painted on that jet every year. This year was the centennial for the Navy, however, during pre-airshow practice or Media showing the jet crashed while doing a slow and dirty pass or what I think was most likely the vertical almost hover procedure to wow the crowds. A very impressive maneuver that has been done millions of times by pilots at air shows that I can remember going back years now.
http://www.airforce.forces.gc.ca/v2/...ng.asp?cat=158
If you go to the following site, you can see previous years paint schemes
http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.co...e%20Models.htm
(Let's just say, lots of inspiration for any persons wanting to make a unique model can be found here)
Do the American's or other nation do something like this?
I would be interested to see what other countries are doing in this regard.

Ali, great post. I am about 10 days from having my maiden flight with the Skymaster T-33 here in Sydney Australia I understand you spoke with Phil the other day...... anyway can you pls tell me how it flew, approach speed, handling characteristics etc... any potential issues in flight? Previous model was my much loved Viper Jet 2.6m which I had some 86 flights with before recently selling....
Await your reply

James and Phil,
Well done, beautiful plane. See the ground handling is typical narrow undecarrige material. Any major trim changes? Any cg changes required? Let us know your first 'educated' impressions.
Thanks guys,
Jan

FLIGHT TODAY......T-33take off roll was beautiful and it lifted off no dramas at all considering dry weight of 46lbs. Some minor trimming 1st flight, elevator and aileron but nothing major. The fact is that on approach one needs to keep speed up to the aircraft and land with flying speed almost if that makes sense. get this model too slow and it will hurt you unlike the Viperjet 2.6mtr which I had 86 flts on, that thing wouldnt slow down. Narrow undercarriage is in fact interesting and unless you get wheels down dead on well theinevitablehappens.. shouldnt have been a problem but did get hit with a bit of crosswind last minute (nonetheless no excuse)... overall first flight was a lot of work second flt far more enjoyable.. first landing was half flap no speed brakes, second landing was full flap with brakes what was amazing was that it need full throttle to fly with everything hanging out which is a bit different to the Viper which was pretty much a cut and glide... the fact that throttle is used so much makes it far safer and more planned ...!! Overall great looking model need another 4 - 6 flts before I get a handle on all its habits. Re CG Phil set slightly aft due to total weight but within limits set by SM, we are at around 200, range 190-200 but will let Phil clarify this for you... certainly not a model for abeginner, that is for sure. Ali,
I was told the wing joining system on the T-33 is a little worrying. This being due to it not having any wing tube or rod going all the way from the one side to the other side, only two short joiners on each side of the fuselage. This has obviouisly been done before (with success I might add), ala the BVM T-33. However, this depends heavily on the fuselage integrity. How is the wing flexing in high G situations?
The other observation that I've been told about is the opening canopy poses a few problems with it's mechanism not being smooth and that it get stuck a lot. Furthermore, the component install, in conjuction with the opening canopy is a serious challenge, especially with the jet building tail heavy and very little space up front to move the components forward.
Your comments will be appreciated.
Thanks

Jan,
Just to clarify, the wing join does have solid carbon spars that run from wing to wing through the fuselage. They are just not that long that they go very deep within the wing itself.

Phil,
Thanks for the clarification. I thought it was like the BVM T-33. How deep do they go into the wing - approximately? Is there any way of extending them in your opinion?
Cheers
