I am using mount that look like the HPI mounts but mine are vented and lightened. I cannot find them on Tower and I don't remember where I got them from. When I get home I will try to remember to take pictures of them and post it.

I am running the pull start OS .18 CV-rx, all my flywheels are for the pull start engines.

gotcha, that lightened flywheen I gave you a link to is the 32mm flywheel, not the 40mm flywheel. Thats why I would need the lower engine mounts if I want to use my bump starter.

Yes you can use a starter box as some are talking about that is why you have the slot where the flywheel is. Any 1/10 scale starter box should work.

Hey guys long time no post!

Quick question. My Bell is wabbling and the washer/bearing looking thing on the front that holds it on is warped. Is this common? Anyone know the replacement part number?

If you are running the RTR set up you would be much better up grading to the SS set up with a race CB.

The way the Savage is made it would be impossible to use it on a Savage unless you totally redesigned and highly modify the truck.

Yes, this happned on my MT2 some time ago. As 46u mentioned, upgrade to the 18ss clutch bell and bearings - a LOT BETTER THAN THE RTR NEEDLE BEARING SETUP!

Get the HPI hardened/vented clutch bell! About $14.79 on Tower Hobbies..

I would prefer pull-start - as it means no messing with carrying around a starter box and batteries. However, once you step up in the category of big-block engines, I would prob go for a starter box or rotostart then. Makes it a lot easier - especially when the the piston is TDC (top-dead-centre) and the engine is flooded flooded! (I speak from experience here....

Up until I put my TZ in I would say pull starter but with the TZ being a much higher performance engine it is a little harder to start. All so the TZ has a very tiny pull starter do to rear exhaust and the cord rubs on more frays as well as the cord is shorter and easier to pull total out of the starter. Now on my big block Savage I do not have a problem with the pull starter and on my buggy I use a starter box.
