The HPI are MUCH better as you do not have a setscrew but a sleeve that goes over it to hold the pin in. On the MIP I had I even did like HIP said and ground a flat spot on the pin for the set screw to seat and then the pins would break! I have never had a problem with the HPI MT2 CVD’s

I don't have a radio... well.. i had a old magnum sport... but something is messed up with it... the MX-A fit my price range, and I didn't want a blazer sport... I made that mistake with my brother... we hated it... but I only had like $65-$70 to spend on a radio... plus... on airtronics' website, it's still says its $118

what's so bad about the mx-a? just wondering... I used have an old JR computer radio... the predocessor to the synthisized that comes with the LST and LST2... but I sold it with my Ofna buggy....i miss that buggy.... sry anyway...

but at least I decided to go with the .18 cv-rx right? it was either that or another T-15... and i said no...the total was like $191.04 or something... but I only $200 to spend...and i needed the collet, coupler, and screws... if I had another $50-$75 or so I would have upgraded to another radio, gotten a cvec pipe, and gotten a new rx pack and failsafe (mine are a little old...)

Just wondered if you where using it as an up grade or just need a radio. I under stand your budget but if you ever go to 2.4GHz you will never look back.

I found the pictures of the MT2 with a big block I had. I know remember how they moved the brake disk to the front, it had a carbon fiber radio tray that was grinded down to fit the disk.

This poor truck died when I hit a slightly raised sewer cap hidden in the grass at full speed. I lost the carbon fiber radio tray front gear housing chassis and more. It was a very nice truck now that I think back. It had many great modifications including the Big Block conversion and I bought it for $180 off Ebay as an RTR with all these mods. This was a score and I still have all the modifications it came with installed on my current trucks. As you can tell from the pictures I hit the sewer cap perfectly at the edge of the chassis some how. It was going full speed and came to a sudden stop, I didn't expect it and my eyes kept going as if to follow the truck still moving. What a sad day that was, I am getting sad all over again looking at the pictures. But on a good note the RB Concepts .21 engine lives on in my Kyosho Inferno 7.5 Kanai III buggy and it makes the buggy rip.

The first picture is a picture of the truck the day I got it (before the accident), you can see the radio tray was modified to fit the disk brake in the front.

yup...just needed a radio... and figured that it wouldn't hurt to spend the extra $20 or whatever it was to upgrade to a computer radio (one that is low cost and will work for the time being) then cheap out and buy a hpi replacement radio or blazer sport or agressor(sp?)... don't get me wrong, the agressor is a good radio, I had one, but i've been needing/wanting a new computer radio for a while...

what are you running? what'd it cost? i was looking at the m8 and the m11... but they are about $400 out of my price range right now, lol...

ouch... that sux... that would be a sad day indeed....well... at least you got parts and it looks like a decent pair of shocks or two pairs out of it... what all does the big block kit include?

quick question for anyone and everyone... with the cv-rx .18... what else am I going to have to beef up? and what gas are you guys all running with these engines? jw....

Ok another question for people running the single speed tranny in the MT. I'm thinking about getting the MT2 slipper setup for my MT1 and running that. What gearing are you guys using? I'm going to be getting a set of non-pull start motor mounts and was looking at what kind of spur and cb I want to get. Something with more top end that stock for sure but nothing to crazy.

I also think the MT2 shocks will fit the MT1 as long as you use the furthest mounting locations. Anyone know this?

Hmmmm I am currently using this slide carb setup on my car.

Other people have been using an ofna slide carb servo setup. I'm not sure what it is. It was posted in the last few pages of this thread.

On my MT 1 ¾ with the .18 TZ I am running 16CB and 49 spur. I am probably going up on the gearing as at idle and I give it full throttle my tires instantly balloon. All so I am hoping it will help cut down on stripping the wheel hex. One of the good things about running the MT2 slipper set up is it uses Savage spur gears and you have a much better selection. All so I recommend going to the Savage Race CB.

That is the flywheel I use on both my MT1 & MT2 I like it so far. It will let the engine respond better creating better bottom end.
