How strong are the stock a-arms on the .18ss?? DO they break easily? I am thinking of getting aluminum ones because I am about to place an order from towers. (Live in Iceland so sometimes it almost takes a month for my orders to arrive).

the 18 cv-rx comes with a really good air filter so you dont need a different one, and that one that you posted will not fit cause the carb inlet has the same size as a big block.. yes the stock manifold will work on this engine and yes that glow plug igniter will work, they are universal

Does anyone here run the O.S .18 CV RX engine? If so, I have a few questions. What is the width of the carb, and what air filter do you recommend? I've got this one, but will it fit on to the O.S?
http://www.hpieurope.com/piw.php?lang=en&partNo=72175
Also, will the stock MT2 pipe and manifold work okay with this engine? I will order a tuned pipe soon, but for now I'll have to make do with the stock pipe.
And finally - Will the purple HPI glow plug igniter work with the O.S? I'm assuming they are pretty much universal.
Thanks.

yes. the new tank.. well the exhaust goes to the extra tank in its pressure fitting then its output goes to the current tanks pressure fitting and then the current tank stays how it is with the output to the engine. simple. but reduce the presure line length as much as posible.

hi all, just been working on a throttle mod for my truck with better, smoother and more accurate throttle control with a better servo-saver and stronger braking power. Sorry about size and quality, had to use my phone as i have no batteries for my camera
i want more run time, i mostly bash my mt2 so i dont think i will care about the extra weight, also with the 18 cv-r in it sucks up gas a lot quicker than the sock 18ss

it runs about 15-20 min on a single tank.. where did you hear that the 18ss has more power than the 18 cv-r?? i dont think it does the 18 cv-r is way faster, it definently has more torque

does the cv-rx suck up more gas than the 18ss? Wierd since it has less Hp and is the same size...How long does the car run with one tank??

The O.s is rated at 1.35 hp while hpi claims the .18ss is 1.5 hp...thus i thought that the O.S. is faster because it utilizes the power better.
hpi says the 18ss puts out 1.5 hp but thats a bunch of bull*****, they just say that to sell more

yeah i guess you could somehow but you would need it to be completely sealed or there wont be any pressure in you tank to push the fuel into the engine, thats why i want to find a place to mount a second tank cause it would already be sealed off. but since your running the TZ i would focus on keeping my drivetrain together, have you had any problems like that yet or have you not run the TZ yet???

i feel you, murawskiallen. Once my tz is in im sure i am going to want way more running time. Is there anyway you can modify the original gas tank to overlap on a carbon fiber upper deck, suppose adding another 30-40 cc on it?

I would keep an eye out on your temps guys if you plan on running like that motors arent designed for two tanks as long as temps are in the safe zone should be ok ,just watch those temps

if i may suggest i think you would have to run the top bigger tank feeding into stock position then from stock position to the motor, just a suggestion but cool

Hey guys i just took out my baby for a fifth tank break in man that motor rips big time glad i got it now for sure .still havent hit the full throttle postion yet but i need a bigger parking lot to do that in lol its got some real juice running the 15 tooth racing cb 52 spur
yeah thats the way i was going to do it but there were certain complications and i wasnt able to do it, and it doesnt make a difference on the temps by running 2 tanks its the same as running one tank and then filling it back up before it completely runs out..anyways i just got in from running it and it ran pretty well until my rear diff stripped, but that wasnt by fault of the dual tanks, and one of the bad things about the dual tanks is it increased the top weight and i have to put the body posts really high so the body could fit over the tank
