I had the scare of my life the other day. I was ridimg my mt2 down the street and I came behind a car that was trying to park. I weaved the car backing up right into the path of a car coming up the street. It rolled over my car and i thought it was over. The engine was still running and after I checked it out, the only thing wrong with it was the right front tire was bent. These trucks are tought. Thank GOD! I only had it since christmas. Still getting use to it. This truck is really fast.

I noticed yesterday that the engine revs really high and the only way to slow it down is hold down the brakes. What do I need to check and buy? Looks like I have some major work to do.

Sounds like your carb isn't closing enough, take off the air filter and look inside the carb there should only be a 1mm gap when your radio is at neutral. Sometimes you can trim it closed more with the trim knob or button on the radio or you may have to adjust the linkage. Hope this helps

take the arm off and adjust the screw next to the carb while closing itmanuallt to 1mm(might have to loctite it seeing it can vibrate loose). Than adjust the arm till its at that point.

I have herd that before, But what is the trim knob for if not for makingminor adjustments. I know if you trim too far one way or the other your carb wont open all the way or your brakes will drag but for what other reason is it not good practice? Not trying to be a dink, just trying to figure out why its such a big deal to use it if it isntcausing any other problems.
cause when you hit the brake if the carbs setting it too small it will stop the engine.
The trim doesn't take that into account.
Hell that is how I though when I got my 1st nitro and was wondering why the engine kept dying when I hit the brakes. Turns out my carbs gap was too small, and when I stopped the carb would close completely.
So yes in a way it would cause other problems seeing you would be sitting there getting frustrated at the engine thinking you did it right.

The trim is a bandaid for quick adjustments but its always good to have things set properly and not rely on it.
I had an engine with the gap just a bit too small and I used the trim to set it right in a hurry. The engine would stall when I would quickly flip to brake because the servo overshot a tiny bit and the gap was too narrow.<br type="_moz" />
I am in cambridge and a bunch of us get together regularly in the summer and you are welcome to join us. There is a lot of RC around here
