ok, so heres the deal, I have a stock RTR RC10GT2. last weekend i broke teh a-arm and its been sitting all week, and now its finally replaced. i put 3 drops of aro after i ran teh engine last (last monday morning to get the remaining feul outta the truck) and wednsday i go to pull the started for kicks and giggles and its locked so i pop teh plug out and pull teh starter and a bunch of what im guessing to be feul + aro came oozing out. I got it all out and pu tin teh glow plug. also, last monday is when i pulled teh white carb restrictor out and installed a Motorsaver air filter. Now today (sunday) i fuel it up, prime it, and attempt to start it for about 1 minute. After it wouldnt turn, i swapped teh plug fora fresh McCoy MC-55 and repeat the starting with the same results. I turned up the idle speed about half a turn and richend the low speed needle 1/4 turn. this seemed to get the engine to cathc every once in awhile but it never started. I checked the glow ignitor on the plugs and it made them glow orangish yellow like they did in teh past. Im outta ideas. Im tempted to have AE send me a new engine because ti always seems to be a pain in the ass to get this **** to turn. In the past it has taken me a little bit to start, but never this long. I think ill use my tax return on a new powerplant if these issues stay.

FalloutMan you using a pull start? if you are go box or roto then you can prime by holding your finger over the exhaust pipe to prime it and get the right ammount of fuel in it most of the time. Also how long did you wait to try and start it again after the clean up? Just questions m8 to see if you went over it in your head cause God knows I screw up a lot
I can't stress enough about no fuel being around that engine when you put it to bed for a few days, like running it till it dies with the fuel line disconnected, turning the truck upside down and draining the tank, blow out the lines, just what ever you can do to get that fuel away from the motor. I could go over at least 10 things that could be giving you trouble but don't give up cause you got to have the RC fix LOL. We are on the same coast and I'm on almost every evening so if you PM me I'll try and help. [8D] good luck [:-]

im using pull start. Usually to prime the engine, I pull out the backpressure hose to the fuel tank and blow into it lightly until the fuel reaches the carb. Then, i stick it back in, stick on my ignitor, count to 2 adn start to pull. Every once in awhile, il pull the servo rod connected to teh throttle rapidly about 3 times and keep pullin. Usually itll sputter, then ill do it again and itll fire up shortly after. This time, i tried the finger over stinger thing and it primed it, or so i thought. I am seriously considering a starter box whichll run my about 110 clams, but i think itll be well worth it. maybe ill try that and see if my starting probs go away. Also, im gunna get a rechargable ignitor instead of my d cell thing

I am not for sure what your problem with the engine is, but here is what i do. First i take fuel line off from carb, believe it or not you might be way to rich, then try to start it without fuel line. If it starts after a bunch of pulls, than your gauranteed its to rich. #2 try loosening the glo plug a couple turns and try to start it, if its running to rich this will allow more air into chamber and let the engine run. I dont think you are to lean because you have already stated that the engine was filled with fuel once. Last but not least, i do not use aro because i have had problems getting vehicles started with it to, probably an error of my own. I use wd40, a squirt down the carb and a squirt down the glo plug hole, then 2-3 turnovers of the motor, and your good to go. I hope this helps a little.

Well when you took the carb restrictor out it allowed more air to flow causing an overly lean condition which is more then likely why it wont start. Try and richening the LSN another 1/4 turn along with the HSN and see what that does. When you removed the carb restrictio it allows more air to flow so you have to let more fuel flow to the engine also, which means richening needles up a little bit. Try that and see what happens I belive that is what the problem is.
As for the ARO I just run my tank dry then add a 3 or 4 drop to the carb(when it's going to sit for more then 4 days) then turn the engine over and let it go after that. You dont have to go all crazy trying to get fuel away from the engine. Sometimes I dont even run the tank dry, I only use ARO when I know the truck will sit for more then 4 days, as rust does not form that quickly in these engine's. but using ARO after every run is good practice though.
But try what I said then get back to us on weather it worked or not.

well, after a phonecall to rclynx (thanks a bunch btw) we troubleshot it and he todl me to let it sit overnight with no plug in to let teh gas evaporate. I did that and followed the proceedure he told me (no fuel line on carb, put 2-3 drops from syringe in air intake and pull) and it will start and fire fo rteh couple bursts those drops will do. When i put on the fuel line, it still wont turn, only when i manually drop gas in teh air intake. then it locks like its flooded so Im gunna go to the lhs wednsday and get a new glow plug and a starter box, the batt packs and a rechargeable glow ignitor along with a decent peak charger adn possibly a batt pack for my reciever. im hopin to leave there under $200 but i kinda doubt i will
according to rclynx, ill be able to control priming and starting way easier with a box, and i wanted to get one anyway so why not.
