Need help on Incidence. Can someone tell me where the zero point would be for the stab. Should I put a one inch block to the rear of the fuse, and make that zero?
#53
rgreen, I am using the 9151 servos on the wing.
The best set up on Incidence is set the wing at 1/2 deg pos
and adjust the stab to where the elevators are even. this will take
some flying, also the CG should be at the front of the tube.

Hi,
Need help with Genesis, because just order one. Does the ARF include spinner, or does CA Models provide a quality one or if I need to buy one, what's the diameter?
What brand of light weight wheels are you guys using?
Regards

Add me to the Club. I ordered mine today with a YS 160DZ, plane shipped today, engine on B.O.
Flying Todds was more temptation than I could bear.
I saw Earl Haury flying his YS 160 on the Partner with a 4 blade prop this year. I wonder if its worth the investment to get it to fly a little slower or if I should just stick with the 2 blade? If Im going to do this I want to do it the right way.

Well I finally have my done, and it weighs 10, 6oz. Could have made it weigh less by not using 6 volt battery, and using a carbon spinner instead. I figure I could lose a total of 6 oz, to make it 10 lbs, but I would like to see how it flies first. It sure is a beautiful airplane. It reminds me a lot of the partner.

My Glow Genesis was 10.7 and flew great at that weight.
Let us know how is flies
Mike,
you might want to talk to Earl and find out what 4 blade he ran,
also you might be able to get 1 from him if he goes all electric

After seeing Todd's Genesis fly this past weekend at the Sheman Texas IMAC Regionals, I ordered an electric version that should be here the first part of next week. Al, and the folks at Central Hobbies were great in anwsering all of my questions before I placed my order. Now hopefully, I will actually make a pattern contest next year !!! :-)

Bill, did you get the last electric version? I called about ordering one yesterday and was told the last one was sold earlier in the day. How's that for timing
To those that have recently received an ARF kit from Central Hobbies, can you tell me what "accessories" are included and what is still needed to finish it? I really think either Chip's web site or CH's should be a bit more descriptive of what you get and what still needs to be done.
Thanks,
Stuart C.

Yes Al was super helpful at Central. I asked him about 1000000 questions over 3 different calls and he patiently helped to answer every one. He also helped me to make sure I ordered the right accessories to get it assembled as cleanly and light as possible. All I really have left to buy are wheels, axles, prop and spinner.. Mine is supposed to be here on Tuesday or Wednesday...
I came close to getting the electric setup, I could have gotten the last one day before yesterday.... but until the battery packs come down it pushes it just a little out of my budget. 3 complete sets of battieres was $2400, motor about $400 and esc about $500. With a $2000 plane tacked on even not buying servos it was approaching $6000 including $300 worth of hardware and a Rx battery..... Boy it sure flew great but at full price thats reaching even for a impulse buyer like me....
Im sure I will love the Glow version....

Todd, what is the front peg in your window? It looks like a nylon bolt. My instructions show a 4-40 bolt passing through the wing tube. How do you secure the wings to the fuse?

The Genesis I have the front anti-rotation is a nylon 1/4-20 all thread with a nylon nut
mine does not have the hardwood in the wing above the tube . The other Genesis's have the hardwood
in the wing so you can use a 4-40 taped into the wing tube, that will work fine.

Well I flew mine today, and it flew very well. Very slow flying airplane. I am running the 16.5x12W prop good breaking, and constant speed. I am going to try also the 18x10PN, just for comparison purposes. The plane does not have any right thurst built into the firewall, or nose so I added 1 degree of right thrust after my 4 flights today. So, I used a mix with the offset and it seem to work really well. I intend on adding some right thrust manually to the airplane. I put my CG on the tube, but after flying it the plane I bet will lock in better with the CG just in front of the tube. Instead of adding lead, to the nose, I am going to take off the light back plate and put on a solid back plate, and I hope that this will give me the weight I need, to a make it balance just foreard of the tube. "cannot move my battery any more forward as it is now right behind the firewall. I had the wings set to .5 positive, but I think that if I get the weight right, I can put the wings at stab at zero-zero, and maintain a strait knife edge flight. All in all I am very ipmressed with this airplane. For those of you spending the money to buy this plane you will not be dissapointed. The paint job is flawless and so is the covering. Great looking bird.

rgreen,
Before you add right thrust try Throttle to Rudder mix. At full throttle
I have 3% right rudder, see what you think. Also my CG is on the front
of the tube. As for the paint make sure you seal all of the cut outs you make
with some thin CA, that will keep the fuel from getting under the paint

Mike, I have just started flying so I have not noticed any paint coming off yet. I did not have to cut my cowl to fit the header inside the cheek cowl
big plus!!!!!!! Thanks Todd I will try that.
