Hi Guys!
you have to ecuse my probably not correct english but you will understand this anyway i think!
4 weeks ago my Zn Twister went down , so that made i the marked for a new plane , got an offer for a zn line Oxalys that M. Laugesen in Denmark had in his work shop but as i work away from home and only have ever second weekend home i had to turn his offer down.
I also was i contact with Bernt Ollson at Rc Sweden in Sweden.... he had one Ts Oxalys gold edition in stock that he was thinking about building for him self but he understand my problems and let me buy this beauty from him! Thanks to him! http://www.rcsweden.com/
I'm not going to post pics off how it is out off the box that are some other place here.
Fuse looks where nice all is painted and all is glass and carbone , wings and stabs the same .
The Finish is wery good not as good as the Oxai planes but 10 times better than i would make it .
the Hardware that followed is also wery nice Undercarriage wheel pants and a lot off other stuff in carbon and alu.
Have started to cut some on the fuse for preparing the wing mounts and also moulded a canopy in carbon will save ca 30 gr and when i remove the canopy floor that will also save me some more gr thats all so fare ... i save supricingly 9 gr only when i clean cutted where wing are going to rest .
But this is how it going to be !
in the nose Ys 160 DZ ..not at home yet hopefully it arive in a month to rc sweden
Hattrori short pipe
have some japanese stuff in my work shop like pipe mount etc...
Hyde Ara mount and if i can get it Ys 160 M front mount as nose ring or i make my own .
Tettra 580 cc tank
futaba 9154 in the wings and 9650 to the engine
and i also had 2 JR 8401 that i thinking to put on elev. and rudder
Mk elevator modified to pull pull
and because this build is not that good planned ( i was intended to fly my Twister next summer to ) some thing will find its place after things moving towards the testflight!
I also bougth a new Futaba 12 Z to see if there going to be any controll off this plane!
i will come back with pics and more when thing progress

well could not resist to do some more cutting and to take some few pics
the fuse is done in some way alsomst like the Temptaion i had thin glass outside and some foam ( rochacell ?) and glass inside and carbon from right behund the wing and to the front.
wery stiff!
i found out tha i have to make some wingmounts on my own ...the supplied ones are almost 2 cm short...have t glue them in the air!
i think oldfashion 3mm plywood will do the job just fine.
took also a pic off the whell pants ...wery nice ..agree?
i think it will save me somewhere around 100 gr the canopy job!
more to come tomorrow

done some more !
the carbone canopy is ready , my carbon cloth was a bit bad ..so some places it carbon was a bit open had to use a thin glass cote insed the canopy to get it sealed , i also used a bit more clear paint than i needed .
This made it maybe 5-10 gr heavier than it had to be , but that is ok!
this is the way it was done http://home.online.no/~ofremmi/HowTo..._and_epoxy.htm
On the cocpit job I save 61 gr on the cocpit floor and 32 on the cocpit total 93 gr , not bad!
the cocpit are not to be glued on yet it makes the acces to tha fuse during building a lot easyer so tha will be almost the last thing .
As I fly on a grass field i decided to make some reinforce on the UC mounting plate as well 2 tiny in front and one that run from one side to the other in the back this also stiffen up the front end off the wing sadel(english word??)
all the wing mounts are glued in ,used epoxy and microballons .

Hi Rune,
This looks really nice
Looking forward to take a look at it! I had 7 nice flights with the small Oxalys today. Going to move the CG a bit more towards the tail and mount the t-canalizer tonight. Hopefully the weather tomorrow is going to be as nice as today.
Enjoy building your new plane! Talk to you soon.

Hi
some more work has been done!
wing mounts are ready , used 3mm ply instead off the supplied ones they was to short.
I also swapped the the bolts and tubes that was meant to go through the wing to carbon tubes and nylon m6 bolts , make a 20 gr save on this .
The plywood wing mounts are made off high quality ply and where the tread are done i add one doubler off 3mm ply so its total 6mm thick , its drilled and tread with m6 and soaked with thin CA and re tread, simpel and strong.
I am also going to change the stab carbon tube with another one (thinner walls) and saved 15 gr on this.
Made the holes for stab tube and found some i didnt like at all ...the stab will not fit if i dont make a rellay hard press to the fuse, i have to add some at the stab root , maybe some filler so it rest nicely to the fuse, not good when its a plane that are painted . It was alomst 3mm opening at both sides in the front off stabs! TS check your jigs and adjust this!
thats all i manage to do this weekend and tomorrow i traveling to the nothern Norway to contiune to revind the biggest water powred genrator here , so it will take 2 weeks until i can do any more !!

If you look closely on the pics you also see some relly nice dinner!! rein deer is wery nice!!!
I dont think this kind off kits really can be called building , it get finished really fast and its easy to get a good results ..i hope!
I have one more project in work and that is the Good Shot from Star Craft , iam looking forward to this build ...balsa is nice!
But back to Oxalys !
The engine is in the house and have been mounted the Supplied firewall from TS was used also a Hyde ARA and the front mount off the YS DZ M , i think this will be wery nice!
I have also gled in the stab tube ( have made a new one the supplied one was to wide), to glue in the stab tube its important to messure and to be sure to get the aligment correct ...use some extra time here!
When you sure it right ...check once more!
I had to drill a smal hole in the hinge line for the rudder to be abel to get the stab tube in place!
sorry not to many pics on this!

working a bit more on the stab today!
mounted the adjusters and the thin rod that those are resting towards in the fuse!
the carbone plates that the adjusters are mounted one was not placed at the same spot in both stabs (see pics) and the spots on the fuse who show where to drill holes for the adjuster pins was on mine ca 5 mm wrong.
i also had to make the hole for the MK Bellcrank to be able to glue the adjuster pin into place, i dont have 1,2 m long arms to reach all the way back into the fuse!
Its really starting to look like a plane ..lokking forward to the test flight ..but its snowing outside and aprox 0,5 meters snow !
Are there any that have build the plane with a YS that can give me a tip on the CG ...thinking on do i need to move radio equiment forward or backwards?

well made some fillers off balsa to get a good fit off the stab to the fuse, i think the tubes in the stabs are a bit wrong, needed 3 mm in front to get it rigth, the manual tells to press the fus to get it ok but dont like to stres the stabtube that runs through the fuse ,it maybe come loose if the press is to hard.
Also hinged the rudder up ...pretty straigth forward job!

To cut out the holes i use the dremmel , a really fantastic tool taht one!
it was one person in this forum who said that dremmeled should be a new verb...i'm agree!
it weigth 38 gr finished.

Dear Rune,
I have the very same model and it is ready for a test flight. I had the same problem on tail section.
Can you show me picture of your ballypan and the holes for air flow in the front and in the back?
I advise you to consider use APC prog 18.1 X 10.1 you get very good power and very good braking
with the YS160DZ.
What CG did you set?
Thanks

the cg is what i heard not to placed at the point TS advice, tink i read some like 21 cm from L E, pleas dont take that for a correct place, need more searching before i want to say some more.
The prop have i heard about but i used a 16x12.5 w on my Twister with an DZ and it was wery nice in down lines ,so i try that first ...its what i have in house anyway, but i have what we used for the OS 140 rx the 18x10 sport, but it so heavy compare to the 16".
Belly pan is not thouched yet but it will be the ordinary in front and some outlet back.
did you use elevator servo in front or 2 place in the stabs?

I have used 2 JR Mini servos on the H.stab. The 2 servos are fitted in a special compartment made at the stab were only the edge of the horn is projecting out with a very short push rod. I have purchased the D.E.P.S from Central Hobbies but considering the weight and changes in trimming because of the length I choose 2 servos. Solution of 2 mini servos at the back comparing to 1 standard size servo + the D.E.P.S. is by 10 - 15 grams lighter. Also no changes in trim at various temperatures and some sort of redundancy on the elevator were the factors which leaded tower this solution.

I also have a DEPS kit here but heard that some ones had problem with trim changes so i choose pull pull and a modified MK dual elevator bellcrank + a 8401 jr sevro .I try to take some pics tomorrow!

On my ZN Synergy I have a pull-pull on the elevator with Futaba S9151 - works very good.
Just make sure to use Kevlar wire coated with paltic protection and not metal wire. With Metal wire
you will be exposed to a trim problem.

the tail is alsomt finished just need the skrews that lock the stabs .
servoes for rudder and elevator is in place the wires for controlling the tail is also finished!
i will use metal wire as i have used before , had no problems with that .
The spot to drill the holes for the controll horns on the rudder was not right, silly but i had a decal that had to cover it , the maual told to place it 10 mm wrong.

Undercarriage and wheelpants finished!
this is how i have done this on the 4 latest models i have had.
The extra unbrako that runs trhough the leg locks the pants from rotate and the outside lock nut is prevent it from breaking off when flying on high gras.
This way to do it makes the setup off wheel and wheel pants wery solid and have also used this to take off in 5-6 cm off snow no probelms at all!
A pic also off the Oxalys on its own sexy legs for the first time!

hi amram
where do you buy the kevlar wire ?
where do you buy the kevlar wire ?
Aerospace Composite Products,
http://www.acp-composites.com/
found it here: http://www.acp-composites.com/acp-cord.htm
I have also used the kev-cord connectors. Nice, tidy and easy. (4-40 threads, so I had to purchase clevises specially, as metric dimensions are used in Scandinavia)
Magne
NB. Nice plane, Rune.

Hi guys!
The fuselage is placed in another room waiting for the new RX lipo from Shultze and for the short Hattori muffler , hopefully comming during the week!
Started on the wing , sanding the holes for the servoes (fut s 9154).
made the servo cabels ready , i here use a connector from Graupner (see pic ) solder and use shrinktube and epoxy inside ,a wery easy way to do it and all is conected with just one cabel!'
Also had a 1 hour fishing trip inside the wing to get the cabel out!
Nothing much more to say...

Hi guys!
The planes is ready for testfligth and i was hoping to test it this evening but its windy here wery windy!
Sofare conclusions!
beautyfull plane ,but they could used 2 more hours when they completed the plane to get those smal things ritgh...se pics , like placing the plywood pieces at the right spots in ailrons and rudder..make the stabs right so we didnt get the opening in front off them also the precut holes for servoes is difrent on the wing!
CG is 20 cm from L.E. so fare have done anything exept to replace the heavy stab tube to get it there!
Weight total as it is now 4850 gr ....a bit to heavy i think, i have saved where it can be done carbone canopy change the heavy wing bolt system to nylon\carbone , i hvae 1 thing left that will save me some more gr. and that is when the new Schulze lipo pack is comming my rx power setup is aprox 180gr with switcs and regulator will weigh 136gr .
The YS has been ran and its ready for a takeoff!
flight report will come when its done
hmmm some off the pics has been placed twice!!
