Hey Guys,
Just got a Leo 2 from Flea Bay, and after taking it apart and reassembling to make sure it was put together correctly for battling
I have found that there are a couple programming issues. I am running a E-flite LP5DSM transmitter and a Spektrum AR6100e receiver. Ihave it plugged in as follows
Channel 1 (J1) to Rudder
Channel 2 (J2) to Throttle
Channel 3 (J3) to Elev
Channel 4 (J4) to Ale
Dip Switches on the transmitter are set as follows
1-4 off
5-7 on
8-10 off
All Trims are set to neutral
The tank drves left and fights right. The reverse of my Tiger which is cool.
Problem is when I turn on the tank it runs fine butsometimes when I rotate the turret right itchanges thelighting set up and the turret will not rotate until ucycle back to the b1/ni mode it doesnt seem normal to me I am probably missing something I am the first to admit I am a noob at this stuff please advise with any assistance youhave tooffer.

Jon,
It sounds like a faulty DMD T-07, since the lighting options are manually set on the DMD itself.
You could find out for sure by installing a spare radio setup. if the DMD is faulty, it will likely will do the same with any radio.
Could be the radio. The E-flite is a Flight radio and may have a mixing issue especially if it was intended for a helicopter. Not all radios are compatible with this stuff. Try another radio set and receiver.

Ok here are the next steps I took. pulled the receiver out of my Tiger and unplugged all the cables and reset the DMD, I followed the set up steps plugged everything back in I get nothing the DMD just glows green no power to the motors NADA. Bad DMD?? Idiot User??? Help!!!!!
Oh BTW I use a Futaba 4YF for the tiger and the RG200 receiver works like a champ.
FYI I replugged above back into the tiger and works.

Ok Here is an update....am getting worried now. Plugged the DMD back into the AR6100 and it is also non responsive lights up and flashes when you hit set but no response from motors turret recoil etc. same as the Futaba bad DMD?? Transmitter...etc...Oh I spoke to some moron at Tamiya USA, they advised that if I sent the DMD unit to them they would repair/replace if faulty. Sigh

I would say having it repaired or replaced that easily is a win, in england you got a whole load of hoops to jmp through to get things fixed under warranty by tamiya

The Leo states it may not work with PCM type radios.
The problems you are having seems to be the DMD, but check that the cable tabs are inserted in the reciever in the correct orientation. Some of the recievers can have 'reversible' tabs for interfacing with different servo manufacturer pinouts.

If you got all the paperwork that comes with the tank kit there is a test mode that IIRC runs through a self-check diagnostic process - the manual does specify when the lights flash up abnormal and that's when you should send the unit in. There are override switches on the MFU itself that allow you to activate special functions without using the radio.

Nah, the lights can be cycled via the radio as well.
I still would recommend to the OP, check your battery, check your connections. Then as a last resort, send in the DMD to Tamiya for them to check.

UPDATE!!!!!!!,
Eric you sir are genius for not overlooking the obvious problem in this case ME.... LOL. I had plugged in the servos upside down and they were not registering properly. DUH. Apparently the Tiger is bullet proof with the way it is designed as they only go in one way. The Leo can go in eaither way. Anyway I changed them all and reset up the DMD and the Leopard works as one would expect. BTW the AR6100 and Eflite do not work correctly with the Leo but work fine on my Tiger. Go figure. Thanks all for your help Signing off to whip the kids butts at tank warfare with the Leo.
