T-34/85 Winter version with DX5e
Hey Guys,
The Winter T-34/85 has the Heng Long RX-14 upgrade and with the use of the DBCRC2 I am using the DX5e radio with the BR6000 receiver!
The main thing for this post is to show cases the DBCRC2 and its capabilities! Also I will be showing in what needs to be connected where,
and doing a couple of videos! One to show the functions and the 2nd to show the programming sequences!
You can remove the Heng long Rock, and just have the barrel cannon recoil!
You can have true inertia proportional drive!
You can add 3 unique sounds to your tank! Hit, Cannon, & Death sounds!
You can now use a Hobby radio now like the 2.4 GHz DX5e, to me, which is perfect for this DBCRC2 because it offers you 5 channels!
It is also a Tamiya compatible battle system, with 3 different weight class settings, and reduction in power to the tank as you take hits and LED registering the hits!
Now this is where I have done some thing unique and Blitzed out the tank! I have installed the DBU in the TC hatch and added some extra lighting! I still need to sand and repaint!
Here are some pictures of how it came together! The first and second picture shows how you can set it up with the standard Heng long receiver and radio!!

RE: T-34/85 Winter version with DX5e
I have a few photo op pics, but the pictures below I am trying to show you how you connect your new DCBRC2, notice you still use the Heng long 3 pin data cable that use to connect into your old receiver, it now connects into the DBCRC2 board from your HL RX-13,14 or 18! The first picture shows how you need to piggy back your wires to use the 2 Sound card setup! The forth picture shows you can hook up a servo to the 5th channel! I could have use that for the recoil, but I chose to use the WSN, now I can use that servo for something else?? [sm=50_50.gif]And video below is show casing the 3 unique sounds, and no Heng long Rock,,, the hidden DBU with extra lights! I will make the instructional video of how to program the DBCRC2 hopefully tomorrow!

I like the hidden TBU, thats a cool idea. I recently converted one of these to HL electroncis also. But I used the orginal DBC. One thing I noticed thou was that the turret rotation and gun elevation motors were really loud, Even after I applied liberal amounts of lithium grease to the gears. Your's sounds alot better than mine in the video. Did you do anything to make them run better? It really does run alot better with the HL electronics thou.

Thanks, and it seems to be taking hits fine from all directions! And yes the HL boards are way better then the stock WSN,, even if you do not change out the gearbox,, I have some Gruapner 280's I am going to see if they fit though! See if it will help give it a little more power without thrashing the gearbox! On the turret rotation,, I swapped out the WSN turret motor for the Heng long unit! The elevation is the same, I did grease that up heavy

Man I seen the work Perry did and now you, it looks real clean! One question, I may do this to my green T-34, are you going to close the from end,, I would like to see that
when your done, go ahead and post here if you don't mind! That way I can come back to it for reference when I get the courage to do mine!

Hi Phil changed my mine took a old pill bottle and cut it down to size with a dremel cutting wheel for the rear cover if you do this gearbox replacement make shore if you drill and tap the shaft that its level same with the T-34 wheel pins off just a little and the wheel will wobble .
Thanks Jimmy

RE: T-34/85 Winter version with DX5e
Nice stuff. Have you done anything in the gearbox to reduce/eliminate that horrible gear hop that likes to happen in these things? Thats the only thing keeping me from driving mine regularly. It seems that the axels just need some shimming to keep them tight.

RE: T-34/85 Winter version with DX5e
the new black steel gearboxes that Bill at Rc Command has seem to be built with tighter gear spacing and may not have that slop in longer use as the silver gears do .
thanks

You can git it from blitz at www.rctankwars.com or from Bill at www.rccommand.com and you will have to ask them if it works with the JR radio it should you should only have to match the channels correct some are listed as thur, elv, trim, and so on and some radios listed as 1,2,3, for connections .
Thanks

RE: T-34/85 Winter version with DX5e
I got the electronics all wired up and the DBCRC2 installed and every thing works well just need to do 2 things send the Spektrum DX5e radio back in and have them replace the right joystick with a self centering one and hooking the Spektrum BR6000 bot Rx up by the DBCRC2HL build instructions puts gun fire on right joystick that is not self centering this is on a model 1 so I may want to change it over to left stick when firing the main gun get 1 fire from DBCRC2 but some times get more then 1 canon recoil or just half a recoil from HL RX-14 board I think this is more from the WSN recoil mech .
Thanks

And yes the WSN recoil is not ideal it has a very tight sweet spot to work right and the angle of the barrel I think even effects its performance at least on mine!

Hi Phil ya they were out of the model 2 when I ordered it and got the model 1 they did not list what was diffrent between the 2 should of ordered it over the phone and had them take out the ratcheting joystick yep a small movement in the stick and the gun fires and recoils but have to pull all the way to get the DBCRC2 to fire gun sound hope it works better in the Stug or the KV-1 by the way were on the TX-18 board do you solder the sound card pins to im thinking of putting the DBCRC2 set for heavy on the KV-1 and mite order another from you set as medium for the Stug .
Thanks
