What seems to be the problem? If you can be specific I am sure it can easily be explained or fixed.

Joe, your last post is blank....I think, unless I'm missing a plugin or something.<div></div><div>Anyway, the current Tamiya electronics were designed specifically for 4ch use....but not all transmitters are compatible (depending on the tank such as the Leo.) So, I guess the important thing to know is what transmitter are you using and what tank?</div>

I had to copy them to photobucket in order to embed them here. Wish it were as easy as cutting and pasting the image.

Make sure it all works BEFORE you put it in the tank, and can easily check all the connections.

Also helps if you have some servos to double check that the radio equipment works before you start plugging in all the Tamiya electronics.

What I have is a hitec laser 4 TX and a gws RX. I also tried to get it to work with a hitec Eclipse 7. In the manual it says center sticks and trims then turn on the TX connect battery ,turn on the DMU, and then move the left stick from UP to down. OK, first issue, do you move the left stick up and then down ? makes sense to me, but it never mentions that, just Up to down. Either way I do it, the green power lite does not blink. The next steps all produce the same results.

So my main problem is getting that first step to blink the power lite.

I have the leopard a26 and TX and RX have checked good.

The leo's programming is slightly different than my Pershing and KT. Instead of left stick-up, down then right stick-up, down,.......you immediately complete the total left stick up, down, right, left movement before moving on to the right stick.

Anyway.....

Step one: Make sure all trims and sticks are neutral. (this is your starting point)

Step two: Press the set button till the DMD shuts down and goes into program mode.

Step three: With left stick, move from neutral position, UP to DOWN back to Neutral

Step four: With left stick, move from neutral position, RIGHT to LEFT back to Neutral

Step five: With right stick, move from neutral position, UP to DOWN back to Neutral

Step six: With right stick, move from neutral position, RIGHT to LEFT back to Neutral

You should notice a quick blip of light after each completion of steps.
Once completed, you should notice a constant blip.....Re-press the set button.

(In this mode, you can also eliminate the use of trims to engage the canon, machine gun or lighting.....but you have to do some easy tweaking)<br type="_moz" />

I didn't see the step mentioned where you press the set button before moving the sticks for programming. After performing the stick configurations, you must press the set button once again adn the tank will start up.

It's there in the manual, step 7. I didn't right out the step 7 either, but I did state to re-press the set button.

The Hi-tec radios do not always work with the Tamiya stuff. I and others have had issues with that combination. I think the Hi-tec eclipse 7 does work but it is the only one i know of. Stick with the Futaba or GWS FM or AM radios or possibly one of the 2.4 gig stuff.

This radio works great, and cant't beat the cost. I use it in my Pershing, tried it on the leopard as well, but since I'm going to add additional servo's later, I'm using my Spektrum Dx6i with it.

You know I think I had more success with the hitec eclipse 7 now that i think of it. i will check it out, Can I get a more refined definition on setp 2 above. Step two: Press the set button till the DMD shuts down and goes into program mode.

The manual says one second to press, in reality is it more than one second ?

Actually, it doesn't shut down....bad description. If the speaker or tank is audible, you will hear the engine shut down.
Basically, hold the "SET" buttonuntilthat happens....no need to count the seconds, but yeah...guess it could be a second or right after a second.

Don't forget to move the Trim Tab to max first ...... One way will fire the main gun, the other the MG.

You said the turret rotation and elevation work correctly? Now whatever stick you are using for those controls is the one which will also control MG fire and the main gun. If all els fails there is one thing you can attempt which is quick and easy. Do the setup procedure again, only this time when you do it, only move the sticks about half travel in each direction. This cured my issue with the Pershing not going into gear correctly and it also stopped me from having to move trim tabs for any functions. Let us know if this helps.

If your radio has Digital trims it still may not work. the DMD's don't like digital trims either. you may just want to buy one of those new 2.4 radios yellowshaker was talking about. i just ordered on for my Pershing. 49.00 bucks, how can you go wrong?

Set all the trims and sticks on your eclipse 7 to neutral. Now set the trim for your firing stick to a couple of clicks before maximum down trim. Re-run the setup routine. after the re-run reset the trim on the firing stick to just a couple of clicks below maximum up trim. Now give it a try.

If you want to do away with having to use the trim at all to use the other functions, do as Joe and I have suggested. The only down side to this, is until you are accustomed to this alternative method, you are likely toprematurelydischarge the cannon and MG (pun intended, lol) Which ever stick you have for elevation (which will control your main gun and machine gun) and turret rotation (which controls you light functions), do exactly as you would in the set up, except do not push up, down, left, or right all the way to the max,...instead, go 3/4 the way or as far as you can go while still being able to engage the secondary functions...this is where the fiddling comes in, but 3/4 is is the usual spot. Don't do this for the Leopards throttleand turning.<br type="_moz" />
