RE: KMP Stuka-build details
Does it still tip stall? I havent had to adjust my landing gear forward any. The plane will just float in nice and slow. The way it looked in the video to me it was nose heavy...I'm not sure exactly where mine is as far as balance, but Im guessing it's a tad on the tail heavy side but I like the way it flies like it is....

My manual says 128mm for cg not the previosuly mentioned 135mm others stated before. Seems those that have CG's theirs at 125mm like the way it flies so Ill go with that.
More pics.
Inside the nose section....you'll see the RX 6v 2700mah pack and the orange thing is a McDanials onboard glow system. I doubt I'll have ot add any nose weight, but can easily get in there to do so if needed.

RE: KMP Stuka-build details
Does anybody know what color code was used for the yellow nose and tail on the JU87 Stuka B version. I need to do touch up painting and the RLM/FS yellow code of 04/33538 and 27/33637 do not match up when I painted it on the nose.
If you have done touch up for the yellow and had to mix paint colors, what colors did you mix, and what perportions.
Thanks

None of the colors they use are direct matches to the correct RLM colors. They're close, but it will be obvious if you have to touch up large sections.

They will also do up to 3 color match attempts if for some reason the 1st and 2nd dont come out just right.
Also...you are NOT obligated to buy it if it doesnt match.
They will give you a dried proof on a white swatch to verify against your item that it is correct.
Like i said..ive done this for ESM planes(ME-109, B-25, and the ME-110), did it on kyosho Spitfire(had to do 2 color matches that time to get the color right), as well as a CMP plane.

Whoa there, no need to get up in arms and break out your sword to defend the honor of the Home Depot. What I was saying was that the colors that ESM chooses as RLM 70, RLM 71, etc. do not exactly match something that you would get from a quality paint reproduction company like Warbird Colors. i.e. ESM's colors are probably not 100% accurate when compared to the original paint used on the full scale planes.
People sure are touchy about the silliest little things on this board.

Well, dont know anything about Home Depot. Dont exist in Norway.
Anyway, I brought a wing, got it scanned and the match wasnt too bad. Its a war-plane, you know....
If it doesnt match 100%, just paint a larger area, so no one notice.
Every supplier has their own opinion on what the RLM colors are in scale 1/6 you know.
hehe

I do agree with you that the Warbird Colors are definitely as accurate as you can usually get. With your revised meaning, I agree also that the ESM colors arent really that accurate to begin with(although pretty close for government work)....so buying Warbird Colors can end up with a mismatch.
So it comes down to again...go to a hardware store or paint store and have them color match the actual part.
For those in Norway...i dont know what an equivalent store would be thats like a Home Depot. Those are home improvement stores....so im sure Europe has things of that nature.

RE: KMP Stuka-build details
Allrighty then.....Well I think I got my engine fixed. I have been having problems getting the thing to run. I took off the reed block assembly and sealed all the surfaces with gasket material..I did have my canopy screwed on but noticed it started breaking..So I was gonna glue it on with rc56 then I thought no it may not hold. I ended up using permatex windshield weatherstrip adhesive. I used the black color. It also comes in yellow...This stuff will glue 2 turds together and wont ever turn loose...Here is a pic of my spinner that came from Ty and Tomas. The cone is held on with 6 allen screws.

RE: KMP Stuka-build details
Just an update from my question on paint selection.
I took my Stuka B version cowl in to Home Depot and had them scan it on their scanner. They were able to get the mix close enough for me in the sample size (7.25 fl oz.) container for$2.99.
The paint is flat mat water based instead of enamel which saved me alot of money.I could get the flat water based in the sample size versus the flat enamel that only comes in the quart size for about $18.00.
Wish I had thought about this before I spent $3.00 to $5.00 for the 1/4 oz tester's enamel paints in RLM flat colors. Oh well, I learn something everyday from this forum which I truly appreciate.
P.S. - irocbsa, I understood what you were saying when Iread it. I guess it could have been interpreted either way. In any case I got it.
Thanks for everyones input guys.

RE: KMP Stuka-build details
Hey Andrew, glad you got it working! It will be at least another two weeks before I can finish this thing and fly. I have to travel for work all next week, and this weekend I'm changing out the cam on my car.

tdbeltz : Flat mat water based is okay. I use the same.
This is why I converted to petrol engines instead of glow with nitro.
Flat mat water based is turned into jelly when in contact with nitro.
Most paints are ,unless they have some additive, or its epoxy paint like Klass Kote.
But then the prize goes up, up, up.

RE: KMP Stuka-build details
Nothing wrong with the car Andrew, just changing the cam for a bit better drivability and power under the curve. The previous one I was using was a bit too peaky and had horrible manners down low. I'm buttoning it up this weekend and will get back to work on the Stuka.
