I'm not so easily offended. I look at most posts as info. As I try to post.
For me and this 109, its just practice and adjustments.

Gentlemen
I have found over the years that its practice primarily what makes one take off and land one's model perfectly.
My little 48" composite 109F I have, was a most difficult model to take off and land due to the gear being in the scale location (under the fuse/wing joint and over powered), but with practice I can take it off and land it better than the CMP right now. Also my small one doesn't nose over due to the landing gear positioned close to the LE and having the proper forward rake.
I have flown the CMP 5 times for around 15 minutes total time right now and feel really comfortable with it. On my small 109F, its my second airframe due to me turning to a gyro to keep the model straight on take offs. Worked for me most of the time. Except when I turned up the gain and it over corrected the heading and crashed.
Practice, practice,........... to eliminate anxiety, the killer.
My other wing should be done in a few weeks. hopefully

Heres what I do when I get cheated out of a long service life from a model.
I sit and wait for the sales or deals of the same thing. I have all the hardware already, the second one has to be cheaper.
My thinking is smash as little cash as possible. I have ready to assemble turbine models (with scale retracts, BVM F-16) that I have purchased, that have less cash in them than some of the arfs out there.
Remember, all these models (99%) come out of China. Its not "you get what you pay for" as much these days as," someone gets your pay".
Patience, and research the net.
I rarely sell hardware, I reuse it.
Disclaimer: Doesn't work with ones favorite airframes.
I hope you find a deal.

KMP.

Be aware, the fuse outlines, shape of the canopy, shape of the cowl, wing & gear location, and just about everything else is off scale with the KMP Fw 190.
And avoid the retracts they sell (gen5 retracts) as if they were cursed by the devil himself.

evil , I dont want to get on your bad side lol ,
I can picture you with a big card board sign walking the halls lol with those retracts !!!.
I still have my Bf109 in the box gathering parts .
I have to post my pics on my CMP Fw190 bash , I actually got the canopy to retract by air !!!! , while easy for so many , it was a challenge to me and I am glad I accomplised it .
It was really funny , my wife is 46 and I am 48 , we have been together for years . She comes into the basement (its a second very nice finsihed rec room ) she is watching TV ect .
So I say , you got to see this , I got the canopy to slide in a nice scale manner . She looks at , says "ya ok ya that kinds of neat u hu yep , ...she then say so what are your going to do with that ??? , I said , oh you start the plane pull up to the flight line , and when your ready to take off , prior to advanceing the throttle , you have close the canopy as if the pilot is doing it from the inside of the plane" she says "cool " to bad no one will be there to see it lol !!! ,
she knows I fly alone or with not more then 4 guys at a great place all to our own !!!!
I said hey , one day I may enter it into a fun scale meet , [:-]
ah you gotta love your women !!!!

haha , we need to start a new support group lol I dont want to steal from this post , but this is funny , we went to warbirds over Pa last year , we met some great people , one couple was in there 60ties and they build planes together and the wife built a great scale tiger moth .
The wife said "I decided long again that if I wanted to be with so and so I would need to enjoy his hobby " ok so I was looking for sings of eletric shock treatment but no signs , she seemed genuunly interested in her husbands hobby . My wife was walking the flight line with me as we took pics of the great warbirds and we were walking away from the nice couple we just met . She sayd "dont even think about Lou , you gotta a better chance of me becomeing a stripper " well needless to say , my focus for her has turned in that direction and I will stick with the plane lol

Well, if I can take a moment from this to discuss the Me 109 from CMPro, I know some of you have herd of it (sorry, I have 25, 22, 18 and 3 year old in my house with wife and I, and I don’t get to say things like that without paying for it for weeks). Anyway back to the plane.
The hinges looked like Delrin in its neutral state (uncolored). Delrin stretches easily when put in tensile loading, it deforms easily in compression. If these hinges are Delrin it will not take long for standard flight loads to elongate the hinge pin hole until it can pull through. So I devised a test to see if these hinges have any of the bad traits of Delrin, I tried to pull them apart holding each end in a pair of pliers without using leverage to amplify my strength. As I feared it took little effort to pull the hinge apart. Judge for your self in the pic’s below

Hi All
With all due respect. (4 kids, but just for the sake of info)
The hinge for me is always a concern. However I think in the CMP 109 case, it is not probable.
With time maybe, but I am satisfied with the stress test. Went past 20lbs without failure. Imagine 2 or 3 on a surface.
Anchoring the hinge may be a bigger concern for some modelers.

great setup steve, i calibrated my arms on a couple of the hinges in my work shop (klett pinned, a living hinge from an old kouger kit, and a CA hinge ) i could not make them fail. As soon as i can get a robart 3/16 hinge point i'll do my test on it.

From the pics you posted the hinge point has been twisted 90 degrees to the hinge angle. You can see the deformity quite clearly. ANY hinge will break if you do that. The flight loads are going to be along the axis that SCALECRAFT tested.
As for the little hinges on the flaps/speedbrakes.. They scare me.

The hinge point type hinge is not balanced. meaning it does not have support from the same side of the hinge (i hope that is understandable). the natural failure would be for the pin to turn in line with the stress then pull through one of the holes, that’s what mine did.
My concern is not the hinge breaking, but rather this type of plastic is how they will stay glued in. it has a habit of stretching, bending, when ever stressed and that would break it free of the glue holding it, in short order. I have on occasion found a hinge point that has broken loose of the glue holding it (when things are miss aligned slightly). I’m afraid a perfectly aligned set of hinges will break them selves free just from flight loading
