RE: 8103 Module gone bad?

Thanks for the replies. I will purchase another 8103 Tx and send the malfunctioning one in for a check up and repairs. I don't want to risk another airplane to a "test" with a borrowed module just...

8103 Module gone bad?

I have been experiencing some radio glitches that already cost me an airplane (a very nice U Can Do 3D 60 size) and lots of frustration. The latest experience is that my 8103 Tx is no longer...

How do you fly a knife-edge spin?

I am exploring the flight envelope of a UCD 3D and am so far unable to repeatably perform a knife-edge spin. I probably just don't know how to get into it properly.
I'm also having problems...

Maiden flight today

I waited till the crowd thinned out a little at the Muskogee Fly-in today, then fired up the Saito 100 and gave the UCD a test flight. I REALLY LIKE THIS AIRPLANE! C.G. came out at 5" with where I...

World Models Does it Again

I had a Saito 180 for awhile. It was first in a H9 Edge 540 and then in a Giles G-202. The best prop I found for that engine was an APC 18-6W. It also flew decently although considerably faster...

Best unlimited 3D scale plane?

Here is why I don't think the Pitts Special will do very well at 3D. First, the tail isn't airfoiled. I think a scale plane needs the airfoiled tail to get the authority necessary for flying 3D...

JR 8103 twin elevator servo mixing

rthorne,
Try using programmable mix 5 or 6 instead of programmable mix 3.
I am setting up a UCD 3D with two elevator servos with the second servo plugged into the aux 3 channel on an 8103. I...

Best unlimited 3D scale plane?

Thanks for all your advice. After a lot of consideration and price comparing, I decided to save a few bucks and get some 3D "training" time on a U-Can-Do 3D. Once I get really comfortable doing 3D...

"I'm in!"

Got my UCD today. Due to all the YS .91's being on back order according to my LHS, I opted for the Saito 100. I am a big fan of Saito anyway so this seemed like a good chance to try this new little...

Lanier 30% Edge or Extreme Flight 85" Extra for 3W 60?

I probably need to sell the 3W 60 and upgrade to an 80. I sure wish I could afford a 33% airplane with a 100cc mill up front.

Best unlimited 3D scale plane?

I can't afford a 33% or 40% airplane and I haven't seen too many 1/4 scalers with gas motors doing unlimited 3D. I have a 3W 60 on a repairable GP 1/3 Pitts that pulled the firewall out and...
