Hello guys, instead of Bob (BobC-130) and I (Marvinf14) continuing in other C-130 threads we wanted to start a new one, bob's old C-130 after 170 flights we decided to retire it, Bob had bought what was then, the last C-130 from Warricks hobbies in Fortlauderdale, Fl., as now the airplane has been discontinued, Bob decided why not go further with the new arf, keeping it the Coast Guard scheme, all the antennas, Radar Dome, i will be adding some pictures as we progress, my dad Miguel Model Master Builder partner with Mitchell Air Aero Scale in Miami, Fl and i have design new ideas to scale the ASM C-130, i have lots of pictures to post, so i will put as i can with time permits and to all the guys with the C-130's awesome job in postings, we love it

Hey Jerry,
We are happy to see that your gonna build another one we have retired the other ASM with 170 flights and making this one more detail with functional bay door, cut out windows, and both gear doors on the nose functional as well, working as we speak on the fowler flaps, servos are hidden inside no servos will be seen, again with all scale lightining and Dome so s i'll be adding more pics, cool to see you back as well Jerry :-) some more pics coming right up in a few

Hey Marvin,
Got some ideas for the fowler flaps. I have a set of the C-130 Plans that was designed by Skip Mast. I looked at the flap slides for that
airplane. In fact i found my pictures when i built the flaps for my Quality Fiberglass C-130 and Im sure they will work on the ASM C-130 with some modifications . i got spare wings for the ASM C-130 so i just might give it a try. tried to upload some pics but having problems. Also i noticed on your main gear your using the stock spring. I modified mine with brackets i got from Troy. they work excellent with no bending and the gear doors are closed with small springs. Ill try again later to upload pics.

Ok so Dad modified the Nose Steering servo and let me tell you guys this works FANTASTIC, i know some guys have been wanting to get rid of that cable crap system we had I K NOW IT WORKS but it wasnt as good as it shold off been here are some pictures

Hey Marvin,
Wow the nose gear looks great without the cable set up. On mine i had a couple of rubber bands attached to the middle of the cables
under tension and as the gear came up they pulled the cables away from the gear and cleared it. just one question with the servo
mounted like it is what will you use to pull the rear nose gear close when is retracted.
Also just uploaded pictures of the flaps and slides.

,Good morning my friend yes indeed the nose gear looks great and free of the cables, jejejeje, I love it. on the other retired C-130 we had some springs doing as such with the rubber bands, if i understand your question correctly the rectangle aluminum which is mounted on the base that ataches the strut if you look close i have used two 2/56 screws, counter sinked them and then used 4/40 screws holding the servo, and that way it goes in and out with the strut base, so all it is the cyclinder does the same job nothing has been changed on the nose gear strut, and the nose gear door back one has a different mechanism and the front door has its own piston in with a sequencer, well hope that was the correct answer Jerry and looking forward to seen your C-130 flying soon again

Hey Marvin and the others.
Hope you don't mind me checking out your project.
I like the nose gear mod. I used springs on my stock setup so I don't have to worry about a rubber band going bad.
I do have a question though. What servo are you using for the steering?

Hey there Testfly,
In the contrary thats why the RCUniverse its the IT!!!! cause we get to learn from each other so much and its an amazing way to help each other out aswell, the servo im using its GWS Naro Super @6vt its 69oz trq, i had to flip the servo 180dgrs to the front as it was hitting our modificatin on the nose gear door.
Here are some more pics guys

Thanks for the info. I agree it is great to see and share ideas.
I don't mind doing so. I also enjoy seeing what others are doing or have done.
I just finished adding a air compressor to the pushback truck I designed and built.
It was built to pull my models to the flight line from my tralier. I use to pull them with a strap.
But, I am wanting to bend down less and less as I get older.
As it turns out the pushback truck has been a real hit at our field and the guys
really enjoy seeing it in action. In fact i have no problem getting a driver for it.
I am sure the on-board air compressor will put it over the top when they find out about it.
Complete information on the build can be seen at:
http://www.seabreezeparachutes.com/p...ruck/view.html
BTW: Can you list your power setup and props?
Any idea of the amp draw?

Hey Gary,
Nice project you got in your hands, Fat Albert its a good looking plane, I HOPE your going electric in yours jejejee, on our retired ASM C-130 we flew 170 flights all fantastic and great flights, to bad they dont make no more C-130's though, our Cargo Door is also operable, side door opens by cockpit all air gauges and switches on inside door, tank goes in and out and we will be dong take offs with it and do like a little operation flight land and tank comes out for shows its gonna be awesome, the tank its a 1/30 scale its perfect it weighs 13oz, has fully function features. Since we are Coast Guard we have painted the Tank white and will be in UN Schemes, i make my own decals as well, any size any color dry transfer...
I can sell you the plate only thing its i dont have a CNC now so its done by hand at our shop, let me know, hope we all can meet some day and fly all the C-130's together post some pics of your Fat ALbert Bob my dad n I would love for you guys to post pics aswell

No problem on using my pushback truck design.
The finish weight without the air compressor was 11 lb.
The air compressor and 3 cell battery for it added 2 lb 3 oz.

Well Guys keep your fingers crossed got a lead on the last ASM C-130 that Hobby People has. One has been located just need to get
to it. Just sent a Email to my contact and hope to get the ok to go pick it up.They have been discontinued so i'm kinda excited to get
the very last one.
Hey Marvin how did the flaps turn out. I finally got the pictures of the flaps uploaded. love the crew entry door good place to hide the switches and air valve. Also are you using push pull cables for the elevator and rudder. just kinda concern about the slack on the cables and the equal throw on the elevator. Just wonder if a solid rod from the servo would be ok but hidden.
Jerry.
