Right, well the degree of upthrust has been put in and the J'en prop is on will report back when tried out tomorrow. Thought the extensive mud would drive me away for the rest of the winter but this plane is too much fun
The first pic is of a comparison of the gator mount rubbers new and knackered.
2nd J'en 18x6 against the APC 17X8N
3rd is the prop against the APC 17x8
The main weakness of the 17x8N is its lack of downline breaking. Hopefully this will be desolved with the Just engines one

4 Tanks of fuel today - running in my new 140 FZ2. Looking good, after 4 tanks, peak was a shade over 9000 with the 17x8n I was using for running in.
Cowl now back on, along with the normal 17x8, for testing tomorrow

Only if you leave the APCs as they are. I paint mine. Looks great and they're much easier to keep clean. You can just see it in this pic. Plus are they not still the most efficient props you can buy?

Well, all the paint on my Synergy is Aultra 2K car paint, including prop, apart from the Blackberry which is PPG deltron 2 pack. Both fantastic paints.

ps Paint them using a De Vilbiss spray gun. To prep prop just make sure it balanced and then rub it back with 600 wet and dry then 1200 wet and dry (or thereabouts). Then just spray on the paint, does'nt need any primer or anything. Works great!

Ok
If your favorite plane is a weston UK magnum use the 17x8 APC
If your favorite plane is the weston UK magnum and hype 3D use the 17X8N
If your favorite plane is the capiche 140 use the J'en 18x6
The J'en prop is much better. The prop gives you much more speed control and power control in both downlines and uplines, and the slower flight gives you a lot more time to get your onputs right. I wont be going back to the apc on this plane.
Unfortunately though for the 2nd flight of the day i screwed up my engine by mucking around with the needles and changing fuels. Got a deadstick and flew through a sapling, just mssing a drainage ditch. Luckily there wasnt much damage. Cant be arsed to bother with it anymore so im going for a more powerful engine
