Has any one flown a C140 with an OS 1.60? It weighs the same as a YS 1.40 Sport. Add a perry pump (the FI 1.60 comes with a perry pump in the back plate) and your in business.

Baron, the C140 proto had a more scale like CAP cowl. I like how wide it was and it looks more streamlined with the swept back cheek inlets...any possibility of an optional C140 cowl that looks like that? You made an optional one for the C50 (I like it better than the original C50 cowl).

Just had a look at the pics on the flycapiche website. He has a really good point. I would post the pics that show the two different cowls, but i wouldn't want to get any website owners e.t.c upset by using their pics.
9.5lbs all up weight with the YS is going to be something special i hope!

Sorry Adrian as for sweep the new one has more. I am affraid its the cowl (as on Daves electric) will be the only option. They take too long to carve to warrant a second option.
The C50 one was made with open rear cheeks to allow for Vac forming. The second was just an adjustment on the original mould.
I actually prefer thre new one!! But hey we all have different tastes. If you saw all three together I think you might change your mind.
Last but not least dont go buying a Hanger 9 cowl as the new model is more than 15mm narrower.

those are all old pics and I think I like the new cowl too... the biggest diff is the enlarged canopy - thos old cap style one looked too squat.. (top pic)
There are considerations on this Isle for getting 160DZs in them ! Ohh so rude ! Im hoping they will be available by April. I know it doesnt need it but oh to have the power available.... makes me feel all girly just thinking about it... I know CPLR rates this motor big style !

Luke you missed the new one out!!! Your pics show my first proto with the hanger 9 C11 and Mine "Opps" Ali's MK2 aka C140 "Thw Boys is the latest version and IMHO the best
Cheeks a bit wider and much larger intake holes.
You need to see it in the flesh with the flash removed and cut n finished.
This pic just shows it sitting on the model as is the superb Carbon Copy super light canopy (just sitting there).

OOOOOh lovely! I know i missed Dave's capiche picture out, because the ones on the flycapiche site are GIFs, which RCU does not support as a picture format.
Just looking at various servos. The servos i am currently aiming to get are Hitec HS 945 corelesses on the ailerons and rudder, with the JR 8511 on the elevator(latest version of 8411).
However i have just seen an offer on the probuild website for 4 JR 4011 digitals for £200. Looking at the specs they have 11kg of torque at 0.19s speed, wich if im not mistaken is the same as the old 8411. Do you think i should go for this offer?

Decent digitals for £50? Sounds good to me if you can afford it.
Conversely, look at getting some from the US. with the Dollar at nearly 1.8, makes thing very cheap.

I cant seem to be able to view the pictures.
I saw that servo deal aswell luke, seemed very good.
For anyone thinking that servos in america are allot cheeper, well, Nathan says he whent over there to buy some digis (meby a holiday aswell
but he didnt mention this) and he says that it wasnt much cheeper. ive only seen 1 or 2 yank model mags and i skiped the adds (which takes up most of the magazine lol) and i havent seen much, most say call for price.
DS8411
Torque: 155 oz/in
Speed: .18 sec/60°
Weight: 2.03 oz
Size: 0.75 x 1.54 x 1.36 in
Ball Bearing: dual wide spaced
Motor: coreless
114.95 USD = 63.0254 GBP +Delivery+17.5% VAT
74.05 GBP (aprox, i did the short way of adding VAT and not the proper way)
But.........theres a car steering servs which has more torque and its the same price. Its called the DZ8550 Racing Servo. The only downfall i can see is the short lead. But thats only minor.
DZ8550
Torque: 188 oz/in at 6V
Weight: 1.92 oz
Gear: Alloy Metal
Motor: Coreless
Speed: .15 sec/60 degrees at 6V
Size: 0.73" x 1.52" x 1.32"
Ball Bearing: Dual
At the same price as the DS8411 it seams quite good. [link=http://horizon.hobbyshopnow.com/products/description.asp?Prod=JRPSZ8550]Heres the link[/link]. Take a look. i dont know much on theese high torque servos but i cant seem to see anything wrong with this.

My Feedback: (34)
Just as an FYI.. The JR 8611 puts out over 260oz" on 6v, but the real improvements are in the case design. It's thicker all around and there are 2 additional case screws next to the output shaft area to further stabilize this area. There is also zero slop in the geartrain.

Thanks for that clarification Eddy and Doug...
Been thinking............. Since the 140 kit, with say YS 140L and Hattori pipe etc should weight about 9.5-9.75lbs, do you think
a YS 160DZ would be an interesting combo for this model !!
CPLR says they go quite well... a tad more power or somat he said.....
MMMmmm[8D]
C140ex Helicopter here I come.............!

Doubt they will get to the UK for a little while. I would be interested to see how they go when they do get here. Biggest issue for us, as with the 140s is the noise level.

Is the 160DZ easier to use and set up?
I swopped my new 140DZ for a new 140L.....the plumbing system to stop flooding, plus the problems people have reported with engines stopping and problems getting a constant setting.....I prefer the set and forget YS
