yeah i know what u mean i have seen those control surfaces its always good to have the new guys at the field find out how fast a plane can be flown, if they junk doesn't tear up u know u are good 2 go[8D]

The 16 x 4 or the 16.5 x 5 are good props even on low rates. I used the 16 x 6 but it was a little to fast for my type of 3D. I never had a flutter issue on the 16 x 6.

For my style of flying the 16.5 x 5 works best.

I did see that video a few dys ago. The kid can fly. There was one about 6 months ago of him flying his Funtana90 and actually dragging one aileron on the ground and broke it but kept on going like it never happened

If he ever decides to go full blown pattern or IMAC, he'll move up into the ranks of Chip, QQ, Bill Hemple, Jason and all quickly and give them a real run for their money

The man is right, i called horizon today after cross referencing the APC web site. The fellow who took my call checked it out on the computer and they do have it listed as electric. I asked him if he could put hands on the prop to make sure one way or the other. He said "sure" took my number and called me back in about 10 mins. He told me that i was right it definetly was a glow prop not electric, that it was described incorrectly on the Horizon web site. Ordered one and a new tach so I could get some numbers on that 1.25 this weekend.

I can totally agree with the guys at Horizon Hobby.. I am the assistant mgr. at Hobby Town where i live and I speak to those guys seems like a daily basis, either for general questions or orders. Those guys sure look out for their customers.

Anyway back on the Showtime. I myself just bought myself the 1.25 for this bird. It was a toss up between the 1.20 AX or the saito and im a sucker for the 4 stroke sound. Im sure it was said before somewhere on this thread but, I want to put the tank at the CG or as close as possible. When i was at the store I almost bought the vp-20 shaker pump to use but, was unsure about location / mounting. A guy at the field said to mount it to the top (since the motor will be inverted) 2 backplate screws. So it could get the maxium shake effect. Very unsure about that.

Also the pushrod hardware... Since I dont have the book on me, im going to be using CF pushrods with the stock hardware. Is the stock hardware 4/40 or 2/56. So I can pick up the correct pieces while at work. Thanks!!!

i run vp 30 on my 4 strokes it works great
since it actual for 2 strokes u must have crankcase pressure...

In the picture of the vp30 pump being in a up & down position. If you read the manual that air bleed hole should be on top with the pump being mounted sideways. Or am I wrong.

That hole should be pointed DOWN, regardless of the pump orientation.

I just got this bird as a first 3d plane, and the only engine the store had in stock to power it was a 1.50 saito. Is this too much for this plane? I asked the guys in the shop that, and they said it would be fine, just extra power to pull out of hover with, but I'm a noob to 3d stuff, am I asking for trouble with this plane and engine combo? I bought a 18x6 prop for it, as it was the lowest pitch prop they had in stock for that engine, and also the lowest pitch the manual recomends for the engine.

I guess it depends what elevation above the sea level you are. I've got YS110 and about to do maiden shortly. I have no doubt it will be an awesome power as I'm at sea level. I think your Saito 150 will do fine but if you are not planning to fly 3d then perhaps it's an overkill. It's nice to have spare power though. You will have to tail mount your rudder servo 'cos there will be fair bit of nose weight but shouldn't have much problems ballancing it. I've heard some are putting OS160...so there you go.

Has anyone mounted a 4 stroke on it's side rather than inverted? I haven't seen the plane up close so I'm not sure how wide the cowl is, does anyone know how much of the engine would stick out the side of the cowl with the engine on it's side?
If the engine has to be inverted, is the fuel tank in line with the carb on a 4 stroke?
I'm considering this plane and the Saito 125 but I don't want to mess with a pump or a regulator for the engine.

It would stick out too far, mount it inverted and you won't need a pump. The tank is fine and you should have no problems. The 125 should be a perfect match, I have had a 120 in my 1st ST. I now have a YS 110 in my 2nd.
