i know the brazing job stinks . but it was not easy brazing 1/8 brasstubing.

On the first flight I had. Got everything tougher and did a radio check at the clear field and also with the engine running it was all ok. I was using my jr 10sxII heli radio so I thought i was ok as i used that radio with my other smaller nitro planes. So i was excited and nervous at my first gas sorry first big gas plane. went to take off and 15 seconds into the flight i was getting hard glitches i thought at first it was to high rates on the plane somehow i got it back 200 feet from me and lost it and went down and broke in to parts. it took me a month to rebuild it and the second flight had glitches again , but got it down and broke the landing support behind the firewall . Now i have 3 3mm laminated ply as a support for the landing gear and boy dose it hold , but heavy. So a friend was going to the states for two weeks and got him to bring back a jr 9303 plane radio and now it is perfect no more glitches. i think it was to the fact that i was using a hitec receiver with a jr radio and that the cap has very long servo leads . so that was the story of the damage due to radio problems.

I have been using hitec FM equipment but am hopefully going to be switching to spectrum DX-7 this month. Haven't actually had to many problems with FM, i am hit with a few glitches here and there but i am staying high as i wait for my engine to continue to break in anyway.

I did a new smoke formula yesterday it worked better more smoke , but it was cloudy not sun as said in the news , but as i said i had trouble brazing the brass tube and i was right after 2 minutes into the flight it started to rain while I was flying , so I landed and found out that the wings were covered in oil . i made a hole in the tubing . i did not test it at home before the flight

If you have trouble brazing the tube, try jb weald.

You aren't the only one who has had problems with a JR 10 channel anything. My buddy Cublover lost a plane he had for 15 years to a problem with the 10 that sounded exactly like the problems you were having. It was a 34 year old hand me down plane. I fly a few JR receivers with my Hitec Eclipse 7 radio all the time. I have the Hitec QPCM in my cap though. Can't wait for a day that the wind is not blowing to get that thing up again. I've opted for float flying the last few nice days. Can't help myself. OH....Al.....that thing smoke like there's no tomorrow. I even have some new smoke fluid for it. I'll have to see how that works.

My new Cap 232 has sucessfully flown her maiden flight! BCMA 40cc, Pro Zinger 20x8, Hitec 5645s on ailerons, 5625s on elevators, and a 5955TG on the rudder. Weight is a little over 13lb, I estimate. Initially the BCMA 40 was turning about 6700, and the power was marginal, so we tweaked the needles until we got about 7150 rpm. She flew much better on the second short flight, having decent climb performance (not unlimited vertical on this new engine) and needing only 1 click of left aileron and 1 click of up trim. She drops the nose slightly when power is reduced, so I will add a bit of downthrust before the next flight, as others here have noted. I'm looking forward to the next good flying day here!

I ran out of jb weld here. I cannot get it here so I redid the tubing with 1/8 aluminum tubing this time. And I used alumaloy ( www.alumaloy.net )to weld it , I use a propane torch and heat it up and it is gust like solder for aluminum, it works grate . I tried the cut down prop it sure spooled up faster and had a better vertical for the short flight I had . I also ripped off the monocote in flight under the plane between the fire wall and the front of the wing. a miner repair. This time I did i ran the smoke pump and no leaks. as for the glitching I also got a smart fly power expander pro , even with the signal Full RF filtering
I still got glitching. Since the new radio no more problems.

I would put some of that alumaloy around the joint between the muffler and the tubing, not just on top of the tubing. That should keep it from sliding around. Other than that, it looks good.

so far it is nice and tight. the tubind was like a spring when i wraped it, i used a pair of vice jrips to pull it tight so i could weld it tight togher . i tried to weld it to the muffler but it just did not heat up as fast as the tubing so for not it is a test run , hopefully on saturday if no rain.

Received mine today and I am impressed! I like the paint job on the cowl, trims matching well, the hardware, the landing gears, and especially the spinner. Except for the dull polish, this spinner is as good as a Tru Turn.

I checked on Tower's website and they did not list the spinner and the aluminum servo arms. How do I get them?

You'll have to buy the servo arms, although I used heavy duty plastic arms. The aluminum spinner can be polished to a high shine using Simi-chrome polish by Happich. You can get it at motorcycle shops. Yellow and red tube.

tower dose not have that spinner to sell sepratr you need to get it from Tru Turn like i did. you can use a drill with a polishing wheel to do it faster. and it looks grate.

Just don't over tighten the spinner, it will warp the backplate.

Rain all night and day , our field is flooded here . We used to fly at the military airport, it was the runway for the local city airport that ran east to west witch was more offend used do to wind directions . until Lufthansa jot a concession to use the airport to practice take off and landing, so if any thing happens it would happen here in Zadar Croatia and not in there Germany. so life goes on and waiting for a nice clear day.

Hey Elvir, If you want to save a ton of money on spinners get them from here. I buy all of mine from them. Super polished (mirror finish) and very reasonable.

went out today mesured rpm now it is around 6500rpm with cut down prop . much better . but i slowed down oil flow but still i am getting the botem of the plane wet with oil , i guess i need to get some dri oil to see if the problem is in you modified muffler.

Too late! Bought a FPE 2.4. Total weight with muff/ignition/prop bolt/back washer 52oz. Swings a 20x10 at 6800. I'll put a 20x8 on it and have fun. Like the look of the quality(full machined casing), every engine is ran at the factory, only small adjustments (if any) necessary out of box, and the fact that it's mostly made in the US of A. I realize it won't 3D a 15 or 16 pound plane other than at 3/4 throttle.. Mine will come in at about 13lbs ready to fly. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I'll send pics of the finished product.

I think the stock tank is around 18oz but not sure. I easily get 12 minutes with the DL 50cc.
