I had alot of grief yesterday.
Got to the field.
JEN wouldnt start and if it did it wouldnt run properly. Secondary needle is the culrpit ill get that sorted.
Prop came off 7 TIMES!!!!! [:@]
stop flooding it then trying to start it
APC prop was so blooming sharp when Itried to prime my engine, it flooded and I csliced two of my fingers open, engine wasnt even running!
get a bit of fine wet and dry and taake the sharp edge of the back of the prop or grab the prop and turn it over slowly to get the prime.
Im going grasupner!
Bah, they flex, there noisy, and there less efficient than a APC

Ian, I don't think you new the situation. The engine was not flooded it flooded AS I was doing it, totally unexpected. The reason I was PRIMING it was to get the thing to start! Because it wasn't up to scratch.
Yes I forgot to sand the prop, I usually do sand them this is a one off.
I don't give a HOOT if graupner is less efficeint! The difference may be minimal and for pattern flying (which I wish to improve) it doesnt bother me one bit! As long as I get flying I dont care if I have one of those orange "bendy" props.
Ive got afp running, 7 frames a second. Bit like flying in the matrix.

Hey FS, tape them as you normally would, i used the IH cyano hinges. then seal the gap with tape. i use sellotape Diamond tape. not the easyest to come by, but it sticks well, its clear and if u use a covering iron to seal it better around the edges it wont come off in a hurry

I sealed my hinge gaps using tape. So far, even with the linkages with max throw (least mechanical advantage) is had NO flutter and yes I've used full throttle
I say go for it, it can't do anyharm but it might make a nicer plane. For the alierons use a screwdriver to push the tape inbetween, its a tight fit.

On a last note, I used standrd tape. Its soaked with fuel (the sticky side faces up towards the canopy), but its held...My C50 is smelly, rusty, broken, dodgily built, possibly overweight........and flown......5 times

priceless
Shahid
I might get some flying time tomorrow but I doubt it. If I do I will do some lovely pattern and if im cocky some harrier marlarky, though I find elevators a simpler operation.

Shahid elevators are the easiest you'll test your skill with the harriers also walls and blenders are eeeeeeeeeeeasy!!!!
jst note i was talking to gary and he seems to think the C50 can only torque roll with the hands of the boy is this right.[:@]

Well i cant hover or torque roll it. It seems to be much more difficult to do than other designs. If i really went at it i reckon it would be possible just lots of practise. When i fly the C50 i just do other stuff

it torks and hovers nice, not as easy as a shocky or a fun fly, all the guys that learnt how to hover with a WOT 4 or Acrowat will feel at home with it. must admit though i could count the times i have caught it on 1 hand so its no hovertrainer!!

Had a GREAT day at the field today!
Awesome! I got there well ready for anything, gonna fly like a mad man.
JEN 56 starts after some coaxing idles nice and happy......top end. WHAT! To cut a long story very short, crap loads of air is getting in the feed line, meaning as the plane is nose up an air bubble sooner or later hits the carb and thus fuel flow is inreupted and engine cuts. Need to chuck the basterd filter away and change the lines...
I am havin so many problems! Any bets as to what will go wrong next week

Kane, i can hover and torque roll my C50. I find its not like a funfly, as in with funflies there happier leaning into wind at an angle of say 75deg. Ive found with the capiche, it needs to be dead upright. if u get it perfect, add a bit of aileron itll torque roll very easy with little movement. Also, the surfaces are very twitch in the hover, just gotta learn to make msaller movements.

ive also cracked the inverted harrier, got it really low today

and rolling harriers are getting there, but still start to loose height after abotu 5-10 rolls

Shahid just take your time dont rush and check it all over twice, also get someone else to check it other because they'll always find something wrong.
Well no flying tomorrow cause my dads going up north to drive tanks so no C50 or Adrenaline test flight.

Well Im not rushing anything. I had a go at remvoing the tanl. Because its a 10 oz, it was a very tight fit in the fomers. I trimmed the farmer and it does slide. But the problem is I cant get it to slide out, theres not enough space inside the fuz to grab it properly and my fingertips just slide over the plastic! Of course I could cut the covering but eff that!
I am going to remove the filter and see what happens.

Ok, I cut out the covering to get to the tank and heres what I found.
The diagram shows what had happened. So as it went vertical it was drawing air, good for CO2 motors but not much else.
Also:
1) The carb line had cracked big time
2) The exhaust line had gone rip as well
This meant that in a dive or any nose down manuver fuel dripped out quite alo, as well as more air getting into the carb line. I tested the tank before I shoved it in again and it seems ok. Hopefully should't have any major probs........yeah right [X(]

Shahid couple of tips you may find useful. use a sharp blade to cut fuel pipe ratherthan shears or scissors as it helps to prevent splitting, and a loop of fibre reinforced adhesive tape around the tank forming a tab at the back gives you somrthing to grab when trying to extract tank.

finally got to fly my capiche it was great but my engine cut twice (new and it needs its lowend adjusted) on landing and i ditched it in the tall grass no it needs to get it U/C repiared but i was happy with the performance exceptfor when i tryed to use losts of elevtor ie in walls it screwed out. I think this is cause the tailplane is not parrall to the wing does this sound right or because didn't square of the elevators. sorry there is not pic my school computor is being gay!!

Flying scotsman
might be a wing tailplane alignment issue, but check your aileron alignment also. If theyre drooping down wards even a little bit you will get flicks. If youve got light covering you can just see a little hole (about 2mm) behind the aileron. I think this marks where they should be. The ends of my ails are just above this by about 0.5mm-1mm

I did find that my codpiece screwed out sometimes, Ive spoken to other Capiche owners and they report the same, though this is said to be at lots of elev. I found that I was hanging on some alieron when I pulled up elev though, I need to check my lateral balance but don't know how to.

i fixed up my capiche 50 nice and strong and i plan on putting plastic bolts instead of the suplied metal ones which i think are a bit much. in knife edge i get lots of roll and it 'dives' towards the belly could this be cause of the offset tail plane as well.Whould it be okay to fix the problem at the wing seat enven though the problem is at the tail or would this have adverse affects. Please i need help[:@]
