13x 4 W is a BAD prop for Irvine53 but it just about works for the West T50.
12.25 x 3.75 is best combo on capishe with irvine 53 (although you have to maintain quite a high throttle during normal flight as the forward thrust is slow on this prop ie your in second gear all the time)
as for putting 12.25 x 3.75 on a 36 you will kill it stone ded in 5 flights!!
Malc your electric is done just waiting for cells, do you want me to charge some cells so you can fly it on holls (not high discharge cells but it will fly ok)

Edible, you need to change your settings, I am only up to 21 pages.
Anyway, all those new Capiches sold will need to be aired somewhere as they are built. We all saw Phil's go together so quick, we need to show it wasn't a fluke!
As for UK threads, we seem to have started or hijacked quite a few as well as this one
, but each with their own theme.

If we manage to get our Capiche 50 built in time for the freestlye comp, it will be a credit to the kit design. will keep you guys posted.

Oh contrair Luke... if you dont it will be a discredit to the builder !! Lol !!!
The boys comments about props.... I rest my case we agree.....
12x6 is a safer prop though if you are not used to 3D and using the throttle effectively cos at least you get a bit more go go at lower rpm.
PS
W36.... I really like this engine. I have found 10x5 my favoured prop in th epast on OS 32 and Mag 36 et cetc in the cougar for example. Anything bigger and you get lag and cant get out in a hurry. 11x4 was even noticeably to load up too much in some situs.
On the W36 it was just too revvy. 11x4 was great.. and no lag. tried 12x4 (sport prop not ffly) it did well and hovered like a heli. hit the gas though and it gently climbs away... not like the 11x4 on which it scampers away.

was that the Master or APC 11x4? Master 11x4 on the Leo 37 is great
APC 11x4, dun like it, not even the 11x3 works well
for learning i found the APC 10x4 best coz you could get instant go and it really pulled out, i don't like to hang on constant throttle constant throws, i prefer a bit more throwing about and a little more active

Arnie,
I think I spoke to you on the phone when I asked if you'd split the Cougar and West? Shame..........
Still, Leo 37 is not exactly a duff motor!
Never tried a 10x5 on the Cougar with the Leo, will give it a go this weekend.........By the way Philly, you were right irvine 39 not up to task - hangs ok but poor pullout on APC 11x3 and 4.
Capiche fuz now dry built, just need some cyano. Last bottle eventually found missing in action stuck to building board! Not pretty......

I meant APC.
Masters are good for ...
1) cutting paper and fingers
2) making lots of noice
3) stiring paint
4) modifying and painting for scale plane static
5) applying filler on large surfaces
6) shaving when youre away on a trip and you left your razor behind
7) bench testing mmm maybe
8) sticking in the ground infront of your u/c legs or if you left some tent pegs at home and its windy when your on a camp trip
actually they might be quite useful after all then it seems !

i know you meant APC lol , but when i said use a 11x4 on the 39 i meant Master, and i will defend the 11x4 Master as a good hanging prop on the Cougar against anyone
. the APC 10x4 is fine too, but its all revs, the Master 11x4 gives way more thrust, and coz its got less bite than a toothless granny you can use 11" not 10" if you were to use the APC.
for me the Master ONLY works when your hanging/post stall, as soon as you get moving the APC is better. i always use the 11x4 unless im doing climb and glide or plie-in race.
Masters are also good for combat coz they are cheap and last longer.
for scale, add one to an Extra or something and you'll get the realistic buzz LOL

Actually I must admit to using a Masters 10x4 on my pbf as I tend to break a prop pretty much every time I fly it. It wouldn't be right to put an APC on a model that only cost 40 quid all in
I esp like the way they leave the swarf on the prop when you buy them, its such a 'cottage industry' feel............

i hear you on the pbf hercmate.
it is so easy to run out of fuel whilst prophanging those ugly critters, they are so much fun.
apc's arent as dump resistant as the masters, masters still stink though
