i just borrowed some scales and havent weighed it yet. but the 110 had ZERO problem pulling it out of sight. i yanked it from my U-can-do that weighed 8BLs 6 oz. if this plane is heavier i cant tell it by flying it.

Yea, the plane is a YS 110 plane.
I just weighed the box with the plane in it (no inserts or top of box) and it is 8lbs. I know that doesn't tell us crap, but I just had to know. And 110 are sold out for the year OR pay stupid amount for one.......................still got this 160 sittin here. |

:)Here's a little tip for your weight calculations. It works for me. You take the shipping weight of the box with the plane inside x 2 then divide that number by 4 and then add 6 ozs. That will give you the weight of the finished airplane. In my case the shipping box weighs 16 lbs. So 16x2=32, devided by 4 = 8 + 6ozs. = exactly 8lbs 6 ozs. Wow!!! That's gonna be a great flying plane.
Drumbum, If I read your post correctly you said you needed to go to the rudder servo in the tail to get it to balance correctly with the 110. Is that right? Also in an eariler post you said you didn't trust just epoxy and you went to the hardware store and bought some flnaged nuts. What are you talking about for that? I missed it. Warning Flight Report
Dilled is my mechanic....I mean dad. Showtime Moki 1.8 (needed 3 1/2-4oz on tail to balance) 18x6W APC 2 Hitec digital minis (ail) 2 Futaba 9001 (Elv) 1 5645 (Rd) Weight RTF 10.3lbs (including SFGs) Just a warning I do well, but I'm still learning 3D so take it with grain of salt. The plane flies great. I had a freaking ball with it today. There is still some some tweaking that needs to be done, but its new. The damn thing does literally fly like its on rails. Put the SFGs on it and its like a roller coaster that has wheels on the top and bottom of the rails. Walls and parachutes are straight with no fall off. Harriers are nice, though there can be some rock if your not careful. (Our CG is a bit forward at the moment so I'm hoping this mostly goes away) KE is just plain RI freaking DICULOUS. What does it for me is that I've never done a harrier landing before and I did it with this one on the 6th flight. (SFGs on) I like it enought that I sold my Funtana40 and UCD60. I'm going with this one and the H9 Extra 260 that we finished a couple of weeks ago. |

JVB I flew it today and it fly's great the ailerons are a bit fast for pattern on low rates for my taste but the plane flys very good with the OS 91 it will hover with the 16x4w but no vertical pull out have to push or pull over to get out of hover, so for what your wanting it will do fine for pattern I used the 15x6 apc for pattern on the Epsilon will fly the sportsman and intermidate pattern fine weight is 8lb 13 1/2 oz my Epsilon weight was about the same as yours, you'll love this plane very good flyer, I got it because I'm waiting to get cataract surgery and can keep it close.
If you like 2 strokes the Webra 120 would be a great choice a freind uses one we cut one side off a pitts muffler and welded a cap back on and it runs flawless, it will have a slight weight gain over the OS 91 but will have much better performance Sorry for the non 3D info. |

Lee you sold me on the YS! I have my YS's coming back from the YS shop net week so I will slap a 110 on it! I just have to wait for the LHS to get some stock and I will pounce on it. I have a F90 NIB that I think I will try to sell now :D

Thanks for the info. Sounds like the Showtime and 91FX will work fine for what I want. The ailerons look huge and I was wondering if a guy could cut the rates down enough for pattern. I had looked at some 120s but wasn't too impressed. I hadn't looked at the Webra though. I would like an exhaust option where I wouldn't have to cut a tunnel in the bottom of the fuse. Guess a pitts muffler would be one option. Never though of cutting up a pitts. Good luck with the cataracts! |

GPSpacewalker, Yes it is a Moki 1.8 inverted. The cowl fits with just the cylinder head hanging out the bottom. It looks as if it has a gas engine in it.

How well would a Moki 1.35 fit on this bird? I'm assuming that if people can shoe-horn a 1.80 into it, a 1.35 should be ample for me and still look pretty (without too much hanging out). Do you think it would fit on it's side with a Pitts? Or is inverted the only way? Regards Horatio |

Thanks, Barry the bolts i am talking about are for the supplied horns. they are 8/32 screws, in the instructions it just shows in the pics without nuts on them and dosent say anything about them.BUT if you look on the second page of the manual they have a picture of all the hardware and there are 4 nuts in that pic that i didnt have in my hardware bag, also on the description of things needed for elevator it mentions 8/32 flange nuts BUT noting about installing them..then in the pic of the rudder on non pull pull setup it actually shows a nut on there but still says nothing in instructions. This plane vibrates alot with a 110 and i feel safer with them although i suspect it is supposed to have them (anyone else have them with kit?) |

We looked at putting the 1.8 sideways but it would just have been funny. I'm not sure if the 1.35 would fit sideways. if you can use a starter with your moki there shouldn't be a problem running it inverted.
The 1.8 make this thing feel similar to my extra in power to wieght ratio. 1/4 stick hovers and harriers and such. I just weighed mine. it still has 3/4 tank because im going to field tomorrow and fri i swtched to a new gallon and didnt have room to put it back in the new one
so with 3/4 tank it weighs 9lbs 8oz but it sure dont fly like it.. the extra pund difference from my ucando isnt even noticable in hover or vertical performance. must be the header;) |

Increased digital torque closer to center and resolution. Think of it as an investment and you only end up paying $50.00 more total for the 5 servos over the 645 non digitals. Boo and hiss me, but I had a ball flying the F90 today...if I had a magic wand and could change it into a Showtime I would though...I know the showtime flies better. |

ORIGINAL: MMcConville I would stay with metal geared servos. The control surfaces are very large and were running a lot of throw. I like the JR 9411 on elev and ail and the 8411SA on rudder. Lightweight choices with great strength and precision. You certainly dont need those servos, but its not a model suitable for standard sport servos either. BTW I am thinking about selling the F90 airframe and replacing it with the Showtime...man I am bad....;) |

they work great.. they were what i had though.. actually they were for my F90 GPS that i repaired.. if i was buying new i would spend the extra $8 a piece and go 5625s at 6v say 168oz. the 645s are 133 at 6v

if YS 110 flies it fine, then it'd should be a good candidate for the Saito 150 right? I think Moki 135 would be a winner also in thei airplane.
What do you guys think of gas? RCSS 140 maybe. I'm guessing that it's a little on the heavy side since it would have weighed as much as a moki 180 |
