I've had my U-Can-Do 60 for a year now, it's time to replace the wheel pants. The original ones are starting to crack. I decided on a new color design for the new wheel pants and would like some feedback on it.
First pic is the original wheel pant color design that I did a year ago. Second pic is the new wheel pant color design that I am using now. Note also in the second pic that I replaced the wheels and tires with Sullivans. These tires have raised lettering, so I took the time to paint the raised lettering with white appliance epoxy paint. I like the way they came out, but what does this U-Can-Do group think?
By the way, the OS FS-91 II Surpass w/Pump in the nose of this aircraft took 6 months to break in; and it's just nothing but fun now.

JK, nice job on 'pimp'n your ride'. The wheel pants are all too often overlooked as a palete to enhance the looks of a model. Great job and the raised white letters seems to finish it off. Now you'll be doing the 'Armor All' thing post flight. Perhaps a little surfing will turn up some aluminum mag wheels. Joe

The scheme was done "free-hand" and is based on the color design of the front of the aircraft's fuse. The actual colors are cut out of Monokote Trim Sheets.
Thanks for the positive feedback folks. I wonder if Sullivan makes the mag wheels I am looking for now. I need the ones that look like they are spinning when you are standing still.

The OS 91 w/o pump is able to hover this great plane?
I am asking because i think it will be underpowered.
I am currently flying the 46 version with an OS 91 FX upfront.
Using a Zinger 15x4 it's easy to hover but i am learning......
Maybe,
a new,
OS 120 AX
will be the best?[X(][X(][X(][X(]

My OS 91 FS w/pump hovers this aircraft now that it's broken in. Actually, I even have a bit of vertical performance. But, when the engine was new, there was no way that it would hover. I am running an APC 15x6.
I would also recommend the OS 120 AX for the U-Can-Do 60. That engine would seem to have enough power for this aircraft.

I couldn't bring myself to read all 60 pages of this thread so sorry if this has been asked before.
I have a UCD 60 with a Saito 125 (inverted), stock tank mounted forward, GP fuel valve...
I get flooding of the Carb during refueling, was wondering what may be the cause. It seems to not be as bad after the engine is warm...
Also, when vertical, I lose fuel and the engine dies or comes very close. What can I do to fix this very annoying problem? I assume that the tank is losing pressure but am not sure why or what else it may be.
Where did you all buy your Irvine hardware? What other RC sites should I check out other than Tower and Horizon?
Thanks

What flight battery is everyone using? I am thinking of using a 1500 2S 20C lipo pack with a voltage regulator. Will this be enough battery for digital servos all around?
Thanks;

on another plane I have 5 JR8411s and a standard on throttle. They are running off a 2100 2 cell on reg and after 30 minutes of use it eats up about 1/4 of the batteries capacity. I would think you should have plenty. good luck. Joe

good luck with it. I've been running lipo's for two years now. Same batteries and am charging them up for the third season. So far discharge/charge is holding well. Can't beat the capacity and the weight save. Joe

sweet. nice job on the build and hwde. install. I use an MPI HD adjustable. I think its the only safe one MPI makes. I hear bad things about the smaller, non adjustables. Mine has plenty of use without a failure.
i'm going back in time, but here is how I set up my rudder. I later swapped out the 4/40 rod for wire. The geometry was off and the rod wouldn't give, so there was stress. #1 is rod & #2 is wire.

Actually...of all the engines in the world, the mighty 110 runs great inverted. I'd mount it inverted and enjoy. It won't give you any trouble, at least related to being mounted inverted.I run that engine in my UCD...It is great.
Thanks

Half of it is the flooding problems you get with other engines inverted. The other half is on a crash I've seen damage to inverted engines, but never to one mounted upright. Upright seems to keep the top of the head protected more.
