Just my 2 cents if the plane was nice and all there except the gear problems go buy a set of after market gear put it on and go fly ,no sense in driving up the blood presure.Heck I have gotten planes that the landing gear or tires or some piece of hardware was crap I replaced it for something better and moved on and enjoyed the plane. That is some times what you have to deal with when you fly ARF's.Solution build from kit or plans take months on end to do it, pick your own hardware get just what you want. Me I would rahter take a couple of evening put together a ARF deal with any hardware issues and go fly, it is hard enough to get time to fly as it is

Landing gear is a pretty important part of a plane. If they blow u off, they are a crappy company. U should have a set of gear within a week or so. They blew me off on an email request and I won't ever buy from raiden dorks.

I bet even with the purchase of an aftermarket gear the cost of your plane was still less than you could have found it anywhere else. That is also probably why you purchased from them in the first place. Such is the case you get what you pay for either in quality of product or customer service. I am not excusing the action, just explaining it and now you know not to purchase from them in the future. I guess I will find out myself as I am currently waiting for a plane to arrive that I ordered and am not able to track it through UPS. This is the reason I am looking at this thread. Now if my plane does not come with gear I think I have one laying around to use. I just hope the plane shows up!

I ordered my plane on 12-10-06 and it is now 12-16-06, so I am not freaking out yet but I would think I would be able to track it by now. It may be a UPS thing though as it is a bad time of the year for them. Most likely it will apear monday or tuesday.

Just to report on my order: The website when the order was placed said that the item was in stock. Raidentech took my money and sent me a UPS tracking #. After waiting 1.5 weeks with 2 ignored e-mails I called today and was told the plane I ordered was not in stock. I promptly cancelled the order. I am probably not likely to order through them again and hopefully my money will be credited to my account in a somewhat timely fashion. As of this moment it has not.

There is no excuse for a company act this way they should have shipped a new gear
the same day they got the call.
If they didnt have a gear to ship they should have then offered to pay for shipping to
let him return the kit for a refund or send him a check to cover the purchase of a suitable
gear.

I have the experience in buying two ARFs a small Pitts from Raidentech and a yellow Bobcat 50 from Nitroplanes.
The Pitts took three weeks to show up (from CA to OR) even though they gave me a UPS ship number the next day. Actually what they did was confirm an expected pick up from UPS the next day but did not ship it for two more weeks (just a way to game the delay) So in otherwords they misrepresented their actual ship date but I still received a great pitts for a decent price, it just took about ten days longer for no explained reason.
The Bobcat was ordered, shipped and received within five days. Oh, BTW it was perfect!
So moral of the story, I learned if you want to order any of their newly advertised planes, order it as soon as it shows up in their ads otherwise they sell out pretty fast. If you want to be coddled with customer service, well forget it. They are a discounter so service parallels their pricing methodology. If you want a great detailed manual, forget that, they are pretty weak and as I remember the Pitts didn't even have a CG marked!
Anyway, I like the planes, still a great buy for the money. I hope they are at the AMA show in January. Would I buy from them again, yes.

Whenever I order something online I never expect a quick delivery or response through email. In having this type of attitude things usually work out. For example, I ordered my helicoptor Monday morning received a tracking # that afternoon but my package did not get picked up by UPS until Thursday afternoon with a delivery day for the following Monday. The tracking information showed that UPS made an error in the delivery location and resent my package. This crap happens more often than they would like us to know. All in all, it took me 1.5 weeks to get my package. I was a bit upset but I knew that I could cancel the order at anytime. I think that knowing that you have the power to purchase or cancel your order at anytime should help you wait patiently or to give the company the finger if you are not TOTALLY SATISFIED. My moto is "If one company doesn't treat you right their are many more that will"...

OK guys...here is my two cents worth,
I order on line all the time...for there are no hobby shops on the island. I use one credit card for all my hobby on-line buys...and one only. Since I live in Hawaii, shipping costs some times, are more then the model so shipping costs are a major expenses for me. If it cost $130.00 for shipping costs to get the model to me, and I need to ship the model back to receive a refund...it now cost me $260.00 for a model I don't have any more, and I'm out the model. Ask me how I know.
As far as I am concerned, once my money is accepted, and an agreement has been made to deliver the goods, if the goods delivered are not what I ordered...I either want my money fully refunded, and you can come pick up your model...or you can send my my missing or damaged parts replacement...in reasonable time.
If the company does not communicate or send me my parts with in 30 days...I send a small box back to the company...empty...with my request for my missing or damaged parts to be placed in this box and shipped back to me. My credit card company see's that I shipped some thing back to them...but I did not send the model back. I already paid for shipping once...I'll be danged if I'll do it twice, and lose out on both ends of the deal, with shipping costs alone ! Credit card companies have yet to address shipping costs as part of the purchase. I do consider shipping cost a major expense and part of the model deal.
If I do not hear from the dealer with in 30 days, and after sending several e-mails and writen letters to them, with no response, I then contact my credit card company. I tell them I made a purchase agreement, the company failed to honor our agreement, and I show them my return shipping paper work. I always get a full refund...always.
Now before some of you get all up in arms about rippin off a dealer....understand, our agreement was for delivered goods...100% as ordered, and it is an agreement, once my money is taken. If you do not honor our agreement as understood...then we have no honored agreement between us. And if you send my a pre-paid return slip for your model...I'll be most happy to send the kit back...missing parts and all, just as you sent it to me. And if you don't send me back a pre-paid shipping slip, tough camel ka-ka. I have my money back, and as far as I see it, a dishonored agreement is just that...dishonored. I am tired of being ripped off by sham dealers.
I now do business with dealers that have known good customer service...and if you don't know about a dealer...ask in this forum...you will get the information you need. Some companies are notorious for lousy customer service...or no customer service at all. I try to keep close tabs on who is who in the business, and after 50 years in the hobby, I have a working knowldge of who is good and who is not so good. One of the things I really like about this forum, is folks talk about customer service all the time. Just keep your ears open and buy what you want from some one with a good customer service record. And be a little patient...and try to work it out. Most hobby companies will bend over backwards to honor their agreement. You also need to be straight up with them and communicate with them. Blowing steam off at them is not productive...getting what you want is.
It's how I see it...

Nitroplanes won't answer back either, plenty of threads on that too.

I have dealt with Nitroplanes several times over the last couple of years and have been satisfied with their kits for the most part. My most recent order arrived with several needed parts missing and a bag of parts that were obviously intended to be packed with a different plane. I posted on their forum <linked thru the ARF forum here at the top of the page> under the thread "Missing and Damaged Parts" and within 24 hours John <Nitroplanes1> from their service department sent me a response asking for a detailed description of all the parts missing which I sent him and within 5 days they were on my door step. You really shouldn't comment on something unless you have personal experience before bashing a company that you haven't tried yet.
And yes, I know ALL about their shortcomings but John in their service department appears to be busting his butt answering each complaint individually. Their phone call responses are very slow however so I would just post on the forum if you need help with something.
