I used several of those square ones with a hole in them. I stacked them and used a Sheetrock screw to mount them to the firewall. I put everything together, then set them on top of the firewall till I achieved balance. Then took off the cowl and mounted them. It turned out good that way and they seem to stay tight.
I think this adds to the stress on the gear too.
I'm still waiting for my Robart gear to arrive to get mine back in the air. I ordered new mains too from Tower. I'm going to fit the ones Stock Number
LXUX08 to my bird and see how they work.

You could mount a larger battery pack tied to the engine mount or as far forward as possible.
This will prevent you from having to add so much weight to the tail while giving you "usable" ballast.

I'm done!!!
I had everything set up as it should be. Started my takeoff roll and apparently didn't have enough speed to take off, the plane dropped off the end of the runway and the robart strut tore the firewall out this time.
NO more! I'm going back to "non scale" airplanes.

Hi Guy’s
I’ve read the unequivocal recommendations to replace the supplied nose gear to Robart scale nose gear.
But I would like to ask if someone did managed to fly/land with the supplied gear
The reasons that I’ve ask this question are:
1. It’s more simple to finalized the kit with the supplied parts – No modifications needed to assemble different scale gear and to fit wheel pant to new gear
2. The Robart wheel is expensive ($60 without delivery fee and local taxes) comparing to the overall cost of the kit
3. I have a hope that if I’ll managed to land smoothly, no gear bent will be occurred
I’ll appreciate your comments

I think the problem comes from people thinking this plane will fly like a trainer. That ain't gonna happen folks! It's heavy and has a pretty scale outline. That means very little wing area/high wing loading with the attendant high landing speeds and tip stalling if you get it too slow. I have a gorgeous, .25 size, very scale Hyperion Cub that is the most unnerving beast in my hangar. It looks great in the air and flys well until I get 1 mph slower than it wants to fly. Then it tip stalls, snaps and falls out of the sky with absolutely no warning. I expect this Cessna will have exactly the same flight characteristics. Keep that in mind and fly it like a warbird for the first few flights and I'm sure you'll easily adjust to find the lower speed limits of the plane right away.
Unfortunately recent unemployment is forcing me to sell mine at a local R/C swap meet on the 18th and I won't get a chance to finish and fly this beautiful plane. If it doesn't sell I won't be heart broken. I'll be happy if I can only afford to keep it as a display model. It looks THAT good!

I am also building the CMP Cessna 152. I plan on installing the Spektrum DS821 servos that come with the Spektrum DX7 7CH DMS2 System MD2 w/AR7000 RX. It come with 4 DS821 and I am installing 3 more of options. The servos are plenty strong enough at 72 oz/in. I have been reading up on the Radios (Spektrum and Futaba) and most problems people are having come from the Batteries running low. Try and find input on the DX6i. I think you will be fine using that radio. Keep the batteries charged up.

Thanks for your comments Sam. The wings, I painted over the red strip on the wing tip and the mid wing. The fuselage was wet sanded until I couln't feel the decal anymore then prime follow by more wet sanding and it is ready for paint. It is almost done just a few touch-up and the a/c registration. Also I just order the Graetplanes Cessna 182 wheel pants they look more scale than the ones that came with CMP Cessna,

I don't know how many flight so far. I made the first flight back in March and have been flying it ever since until two week ago, when I started with all the mod's. The muffler area was fill with liquid foam then sanded. Then a final small pice of fiberglass. Then more sanding fallow with auto body filler. The fowler flaps I fallow the instructions from the TOP FLITE Cessna 182 that I downloaded from their site.

Anyway I hope to work on mine this winter and all these tips are great-keep them coming and thanks-Fairplane
