E-FLIGHT BLADE CP
#4654
Heli-world has quite a few different canopies which would probably work. None of them say the CP specifically, but the HB 3D pro would likely fit.

The Blade CP can not fly inverted straight from the box. You will need to purchase the upgrade kit and a more powerful battery. The Blade CP Pro can fly inverted with no upgrades... once you upgrade your Blade CP to fly inverted, you only need to upgrade the "Bell Hopper MIxer" and you will have the same thing as a Blade CP Pro.

That's true! I've had my Blade CP upside down several times... and it only stayed that way for a few seconds... $50.00 later and I'm usually up and running! Gravity is not my friend!

Does anyone know if the cx2 is the same overall size as the blade. Real question is could the fuselage be fitted? If it is, from pictures of the CX2 it looks like it mounts on the same pegs as the CP canopy. The only issue would be getting the tail rotor on...

and you also won't have the 3-in-1 and separate receiver, but that's just being nit-picky.(Even if it's a huge improvement over the CP one). And another note: the CX is smaller than the CP.

Without reading through the whole post; does anyone know where to get a set of flat bottom plastic blades for the cp? I got a set with mine that have no markings on them and would really like to find a spare set. They are not quite indestructible, but close enough for garage flying. The wood blades are ridiculously fragile when meeting a shovel handle. These white plastic ones take a beating and syill fly fine..........thanks, Mule

Try there, there are a few choices from plastic to FRP (fiber reinforced plastic).
Remember in a good hit with the stronger the blade, the more likely something else is gonna break...

Found them, thanks. It's nice to be able to whack something once in a while without anything breaking. The ones I have still work ok, even with a chunk out of one, but when they were in good shape they flew a little better than the balsa stock set. One dent on the woodies and the plasticote sheds in mid air, very disconserting! hey, does a separate gyro calm the tail down better than the 4 in 1? I find it hard to fight the tail when i;m out in the open,(finally) and flying around. Not like hovering indoors, when I concentrate on holding it in one place..............Mule

Muley-
Sorry, you are going to have to wait for someone else to answer that, I just a beginner.
I did just fly my first set of homemade blades. 3/16x3/8 spruce or basswood and 3/16x3/4 hard balsa trailing edge stock glued together and sanded to shape. Basically followed the method on pg 182 of this forum but made my own wood choices. They work well and the hardwood leading edge is pretty tough. Covered them with thin packing tape for a nice shiny finish, also won't shed like the stock blade covering because it sticks!
Back to flying, But I think my tail motor is going. Seems like it needed ALOT more right "stick" as the flight progressed to keep the nose pointed where I wanted

Thanks, ZL
I figured as much from some other stuff I've read. it can add up to a lot of $ by the time i'd be done. I have a DX6 on the way for another project and will probably wait till the stock electronics fail, then go for a spare receiver and the other components. for now, I'll just fight it as good as I can when I'm outside in the open. It might just be the need for experience, but the tail seemed to hold a lot better before. The gain is all the way up and doesn't give that tight twitchy feel that it used to. Maybe the 4n1 is on its way out now! that would be a good excuse to take the plunge.............Mule

How much $$ do you continue to dump into a CP before you cut your losses and go buy something more capable anyway (TREX, etc.). I am approaching that cross roads now.
If you are gonna dump the 4in1 and go "ala carte" maybe you would be better putting the upgrade money on the new heli...does the CP have enough potential in it to keep on dressing it up or does it become "teats on a boar hog?"

I'll check it out. I do pull the prop check them both once in a while( MH dual setup) but maybe one's dragging or something. Hey, Gary; can I buy parts from you for the V3? I can't beleive they broke, front mount only, cold out though. It usually takes the frame at the mounting post with it. Superglue ain't working. Last time i broke one was 25+ MPH into a baseball backstop. they sure do screw when you turn them loose outside, HUH? PS. What elecs do you have on that df4 vid from your site?.......Mule
