I just let Dave know what's going on, I'll get a hold of Rick unless he pops in and gets whats going on......it is time to go I think.
I just used the Norton program to test all of the sites I visit, including Hobby-King, Commonsense RC, multiple simulator download sites, Horizon, Tower Hobbies, ect... all came up good and safe. Even You-Tube except the ad banners. RCU is the only one I've found to have a virus.

Jay

according to my TECH. who has recently REALLY WORKED up my home PC and increased speed/capacity/security assures me (assures ? hmm ) that having AVG, [ the most recent updated came in 2 or 3 days ago :] this one should be IMMUNE.....
SHOULD I not take anything for granted ? and push further ?
Je ne sais pas, as always : " chit "
submerged in the work-shop, handling the FLU ( x 2 ! ) and working Glider, Camel, SR having a great time (long as I don't talk
at all )
[
] RICK ; marginal, as always
p.s. in workshop days like today, I monitor the thread more than 4 or 5 times a day !

Jay,
Concerning moving to RCGroups, I don't have a problem with it at all. It kinda like hanging out with your buddies at the coffee shop, all of a sudden, you start getting bad service, or treated wrongly, you go to another coffee shop. Anywhere but StarBucks, I refuse to pay that much for a cup of bean flavored water.

Oh, and Vic is 100% right, I am Cheap, with a capital C. However, I like to refer to it as "Frugal Living".[sm=49_49.gif][sm=49_49.gif]
And my money is buried in the back yard, 6 paces north of the maple tree, turn left 90 degrees, 2 paces west. 12 inches deep. (Watch out for the rattle snakes!)

I have AVG free addition. I do a back up of my whole computer twice a month on an external hard drive just in case.

Jeff,
I think it has to be discussed much further before a move is made. More people need to chime in. The fact Kyle can't view RCGroups at work causes an issue so maybe another site would be in order.
If a move happens links will be posted for sure.
Blessings,
Jay

Rick was saying, in french mind ya, "I don't know".
Hey Rick,
Concerning computers and getting a virus, it like playing poker, you never know what hand you're gonna be dealt. The anti-virus programs only work on known virus.
These hacker guys are a lot smarter than the anti-virus companies. It could be a conspiracy too, they could be putting viruses on the internet, so they can sell there product.
Hmmmmm!
I've been on the net for 10 years or so, only had one virus. And have never had an anti-virus program. Just been lucky.

Kyle,
You could try and access RCU (from work) through Google.com. Bring up google, in the google address bar, punch in "rcuniverse" and click on that find.
Here's the example, I think that may bypass your works blocking RCU.

Let me know it this works,
Dave

The downsides of moving?
RCU has a scrolling new post section that is often reviewed and others have come to the wheeee thread for great help and advise in all heli issues. We tend to pick up great people along the way, recently 46u/ Jeff.
Sub forums like chit-chat on RCgroups are rarely explored by others.
I'll look further into possible heli chat options.
Maybe hoverandsmile could host chatting as we do.
Maybe here?

it just opens a thread directory, not any thread in particular, so I get LOST for the meaning
It isn't a problem , if y'all are going someplace ELSE

I'm good with a move or a stay, no problems here. This is really the big thread I read and keep tabs on, and since we can do e-mail subscribe on RCG, it's all good for me. (I use emails to ding me when new posts are up)
Went to World of Wheels today, and met the same guy that sold my father the 20 dollar little heli last year that started it off. I think I scared him when my first words were, 'I don't know if I should say thank you or call you a son of a (you know) for selling me one of these'. Pure shock value, he started backtracking until I said 'Now we're addicted' and I showed him my shirt. Made his day!

I was just asking how you felt about relocating the group to another site.
I like Band of Brothers.
Kyle,
I believe you can link back to this site with no problems at all.

Jay
