Private chat rooms can be set up. I'm not sure how, but we set one up when we were getting the TechHead into production. I'm looking at putting a 3gm bl main in my Genius. I need to change the motor mout and revers th shaft as it's an HP03t [tail motor]. This is a different wind than the HP03s....the "T" is rated 8000kv and the "S" is 11,000. Sounds like the diff between "delta" and "wye" winding. The "T" may allow me to use the sock pinion. I've got all the stuff, except time. Oh, if you need the esc for your conversion, I have 2 or 3 NIP that I can off. I think I paid $10 ea for them.
Got the fireplace installed and it's heating. None too soon. Frosty outside this AM...about 27`F. I wouldn't mind 27`C but...
Now I need to hack up my brush pile to feed it. That should keep it for a couple of weeks, if I don't run into too much green wood.

Yeah I think that $200 was for the MicroHeli CF main frame too and not to mention WOW Hobbies insane markup for the PNP version of the BL kit.

Can definitely get away with it a lot cheaper but this requires modding your main frame and doing some soldering on to this tiny little main board of the mCP X.

I'm doing it the soldering way as I already have all the gear that I bought some months ago but never got round to installing it.

Guys I'm involved in a gaming community and we have our own forums. I can see if our clan leader will make us a private section then we could do what ever we wanted.

Jim Graham of RCG says they will be considering Private Invite Only threads with in RCG during their next Admin meeting.

Would be good to see the outcome of that one as it would be good to keep the convo's in the same area.

I've been into more of those "bad days" than I care to recall. Like beatin' yer head against the wall...it feels SOOOO good when it stops. ...at least you got the plane [regardless of condition] and a few needed parts [they were the correct ones, I presume..]

I need to get a couple of parts for my Genius. I broke the frame and stripped the spur gear. Motor is getting weak, too. Not sure what direction I'll go with the motor....I have motors the same size as OEM [for an Xwing UFO#8] that should work for a while, I have a C05 and esc/converter and an HP03t... Decisions, decisions?!?!?

OK I think it's definitely time to close Stals thread and start a new one elsewhere, should try and find a really obscure location which doesn't get many visits. It would seem our thread has been flagged by the mods and is being monitored, mods don't ussually surf the threads so if we were to change threads then there's a pretty good chance we'll stop getting infractions.

EDIT: In here looks good, it's a forum about boomerangs LoL that has had very very little views on it. The last post was 8th November but prior to that was 25th September. Can't much more obscure that this. We'll just have to throw some pics of boomers every so often.

I know how you feel about throwing it in too mate, this BS that's going on in RCG has pissed me off sooooo much I've just about lost ALL interest in the hobby, being separated from ya mates doesn't help either.

I'm seriously thinking about contacting Jim Bourke, telling him my story with all the trials and tribulations and pleading with him to allow me to close down my Meebo account and re-register as another username to enable me to start fresh. well despite of all of whats been going on I had the arvo off so I decided to bite the bullet and just put the durafly slick together. I used some carbon fiber rods to make the stabs straight again. There rock solid now. Also changed over the servo arms so it has longer throw. I just have to work out the right CG for it now.

I chucked a TGS prop on the rare bear as well. I think it was pulling 190 odd watts. I hope this will be enough to fly it. It was well under the amps. Ive got a 40a turnigy plush esc on this bird so it should be fine. I was hoping to work up to a 4s lipo in the future. It makes a racket at full revs.

Anyways charging lipos now. Should be able to have a great flight in the morning.

well its 3am and I cant sleep so I got my fleet all ship shape to go flying in a few hours.

I put the 4.15x4.15 prop on my parkjet and made an adaptor plug so I can use ether a JST or XT60 connector. Its geared up for my 3s 1000mah nano tech lipos now. Should be alot faster. Put the lipo all the way to the back and the CG feels good. Ill have to run some amp test when its a more reasonable hour as it hums along nicely. I should be able to use ether a 2s or 3s on it now. Not sure if this prop will have enough punch for a 2s though but theres only one way to find out. I just have to learn how to land her a bit better. I normally come in too hot.

I made a few more mods to the durafly micro slick 3d and added a canopy magnet to it and she closes tight as a drum now. Its actually quite hard to pull the canopy off now. I checked that my 2 x 1s = 2s lipo lead works and it does. I put 2 x 240mah 1s hyp lipos with the lead and theres only a 1g difference to the stock zippy 180mah 2s lipos you are meant to use. I also took off the stock spinner and replaced the prop with a 5030 so I can get a bit more run time out of her. Some say shes slower then the sbach but the proof will be in the pudding.

I pulled out my hawk 80 3d foamy and slapped a gws 10x6 prop on it and used the new rubber bands I got and shes tight as on there now. Fixed up one of the control arms. Put some velcro on there so I can mount my lipo. She should be set to go now finally. Just have to find the right CG for her.

The rare bear is still good to go. Just hope these props I got will give it enough thrust.

Im hoping to get some good footage for you guys. Should be alot of fun. I just hope I can get this rare bear in the air finally.

Well it was to windy to go for a fly but I took the micro slick out for a maiden anyways. It flies much like the um suhkoi xp. Its super twitchy. I wasnt that impressed with the speed of it although it was fighting the wind most of the time. I will try some 3D with it when its a calmer day. It was a bit overcast and the sun wasnt quite up yet but heres the video of it:

well I finally did it BJ I took the rare bear out for a maiden. Had a bit of a wayward take off but she got in the air after a while. I used an underhand throw. I used full elevator down and I think it was to much cause she almost climbed and flipped again. You will see in the video anyways.

WOW is this thing fast. Im seriously so impressed with how fast it is. I wonder how much faster it would be on a 4s. That TGS 5x5 prop worked out ok. I went to the LHS and got a APC 5x5 and a 6x5 prop. I might try the 6x5 prop on her next time. I really need to go up to the masive park next time so she can stretch her legs.

I had a bit of a miscalculated landing though and part of the wing tip and elev stab tore off. I will show you in the pictures. What would be the best way to fix this mate?

I also slapped a 4.1x4.1 APC prop on my parkjet and chucked in a 3s 1000mah nanotech lipo and WOW it was quick as well. Its not as quick as the rarebear but its alot quicker then it was on a 2s. It seems more stable with the increase in speed. Hopefully that prop will be ok with a 2s as well so I can run ether a 2s or 3s lipo. This parkjet is allot more fun to fly now and not so boring. I just have to learn how to land these birds more successfully.

After another two flights with my microslick this morning I have decided to sell it. It flies like poo. Even after tweaking the control rods to allow more throw and using both hyperion and intellect lipos its still a dog to fly. It doesnt even compare to the um suhkoi. I think it flies about the same as my old um p51. Dont buy this plane guys its terra bad. BUDS one got totally trashed in the packing of it and I think hes going to send it back like I should of as well.

BTW meebo I had some great flights on the mcpx. I was doing flips like nothing else. I tired to get some on film but once the camera was rolling I choked. I had some awesome flights with it this afternoon though. I will have to keep practising.
