Sounds great, much appreciated. Hopefully it takes a more direct route than the Horizon Hobby one did. I finally got that damned thing Christmas Eve! I ordered it Pearl Harbor day.

Will JB Weld hold in a loose fitting 150 rear bearing? Why yes it will.

I got the 150 with a P47 ARF earlier this year and posted about it here. The rear bearing would just slide in and out of the bore with no heat applied. I used a little JBWeld to keep it in place and I'm happy to say it worked great. This is the same 150 I posted pics of earlier this week that munched a front bearing seal. The rear bearing had to be replaced so I heated up the case to around 350° and it took 6 or 8 very sharp raps on a block of wood for the bearing to come out. New bearings are on their way.

Yesterday AM when I entered this site, my Log-In info was gone, no matter what I tried I couldn't log in. I finally stumbled across this old User name and got a new password. Now when I try to use Hobbsy the site kicks back and says, User Name already in use.

Lonnie, I'm PM,ing you a tracking #.

Performance seems good with the FG11 .66 ci gasser, very close to what I see flying my 46 size P51 mustangs powered by Saito FA62's.

Gary, the 60 Twin that Maurice sent me is in pretty good shape, the big problem was the main bearing just in front of the crank journal, it was stuck solid and the crank was slipping inside the inside race. Luckily it had not been run that way, it required great effort to turn it. I used two bearings you sent me, the front double sealed the rear wide open. The crank turns silky smooth. The cam is good and both cam bearings are solid and smooth as are the two rear doubled up bearings. I had new rings, the threads in the left exhaust port had been cross threaded, but only for about one thread depth. The crankcase and cylinders are dent free.

Fine job Dave. This one could benefit from a male to female hex bushing in that injured exhaust thread! Full depth and teflon locked in place. Save whats left of those threads Brass is best because it expands with heat at nearly the same rate as the aluminum.I can send you some 3/8 brass (or did I?)

Thanks and I do hope you get to run it.
Have a blessed New Year!

Hey Lonnie
If Gary dosent end up with it. I would sure love to use it in trade if anyone has a Saito triple laying around they are done with.
I'm motor rich and cash poor lol.
Trying to build funds for a Moki.
But another Saito triple would be a acceptable stop on the way.
Got a bunch of single gassers laying around that need to go too....
Need to get all this accelerant stench out of my lovely wife's basement.

A 35 minute run of the Saito 60-T at 37 degrees F.
Saito 60-T, new forward crank bearings, the rears were good, plus gaskets and rings.
Prop======Graupner G-Sonic 12 x 6
Fuels=====Wildcat 10% with 18% full syn.
Plugs=====Unknown
Exhaust===stock flex pipes.
Max rpm one click rich from slight rpm drop===9,310, Clarence Lee got 9,400 with a 12 x 6 Zinger
It really needs an extender to move the throttle arm outside the mounting bracket. I had to choose a 5,500 rpm idle so I could achieve full throttle.

Running at 6,000

The extender on mine.

I bought one of the first 60 T's. It came with a lovely chrome formed exhaust system. My later 90TS came with those flex pipes.

I was surprised at how loud those pipes are and how they crackle.

It WAS years ago jim, and the handle 1200SportsterRider was just the first thing that annoyed me about dave. He can be a dang stubborn old coot at times and there's no dragging him away from his harleys or old steam traction long stroke tractor engines, which rumour has it harley began copying around 1900AD and never stopped. They avoided being sued for copyright by doing a crazy thing and fitting that engine to a motorcycle, who'd have thought back then that harley would continue to do that for the next 100 years??

Happy new year boys

Dave old buddy that fa60 twin and it's 90 brother have the best looking rocker covers/barrel of all saito engines. I assume you added the flexpipe to make sure all the oily gunk ends up further down the front of the test bench, they sound better to me at idle and throttle up if they are run with just the standard shotgun headers cheers.

Actually the engines owner sent those pipes and I didn't notice them in the package until he mentioned them in a post.

Yeah, I grew up running Farmalls with their 5.5" strokes and 1,600 top rpm. A beauty was that when you hit one those big yellow clay spots in a field they just belched a cloud of black smoke and kept rolling, no down shifting needed.
