That's one of the reasons I ground a tapered tip on my tool, never contacts the camshaft bushing, only engages the oiling hole in the cam lobe. The other reason iss because I could make the taper on a bench grinder, no metal lathe handy. 25 cents worth of 5/32" steel rod and 5 minutes, done. The tool doesn't have to be fabricated precisely, 30 degrees of crank rotation is a "mile" and very visible if off by a tooth. As others mentioned, a rubber band works great for keeping the crank pin at TDC.

For me, this is just another case of "run watcha brung". Nothing wrong at all with making pretty shiny overkill tools if that's what floats yer boat.

If it came across that way, it was not my intent. I reworded that comment 4 times and you're right, still sounds mean. Sorry.

24 tooth crank pinion:
One tooth error is 15 degrees

Brass buffs up real sweet.

I'm overdue to make a new one too.
Learned so much since making that old piece of junk 40 years ago

You guys are a hoot.

I like the brass one Dave, came out slick.

Gary, thanks for the correction. Not sure why 30 degrees popped in my head.

The number was planted by a Svengali.

I didn't expect him to acknowledge.

The Saito big block rocker arm mounts, There is a right and a left rocker arm mount, you have to look close to see the difference, the right one has the upper pushrod seal hole drilled nearly perpendicular to the flat surface. The left seal hole has the hole drilled slightly left and slightly forward. I hope that splains it purty good.

The right rocker arm mount.

The rocker mounts are attached using the two bolts with the red material on them.

The preapplication thread lock is extensively in automotive assembly.

This place is a major supplier worldwide. Located about 8 miles up the road from here.
They supply all the automakers with pre-apply thread lockers.

Different grades different colors,

Can't touch it till Monday
I did put a pack of cigarettes in the box just in case you need one.

Oil recirculation. Super clean engine compartment and a much cleaner plane exterior. No power loss and fuel economy improved. So far, I like it. Stay tuned, I will be adding more as I learn more.

Cool!

There may be yet more on the way.
I figured your place was the perfect home for the "stuff".

Going to sort just a bit , but most, if not all of this is headed your way ........ If you want it.
