Back a few years ago I lived near Morgan fuels and used Omega in everything. I was very happy with it.

I guess its time I joined Club Saito,  I have a saito 82, and a 1.00 already just a year into the hobby.  I love the reliability, sound, and light weight of a saito!!!  Great Engines.

It seems that this thread has taken a turn toward something that is not in the best interest of the subscribers. I was under the impression that we were talking about Saito engines, but since it has drifted away from the subject, I think it is time for me to remove myself from this thread. Good-by.

So much for spontaneous friendly jocularity.

P.S. I don't have periods anymore.

Does anybody happens to know where to buy a starter stand. Or the measures so it can be custom made? There is a flying club in my town that does not have any. It is a pain to start a 60 plane from the floor, epecially if you are alone

If you want to see the real thing, shoot up to DeLand to the Golden Hawks flying field any Thursday around 4:30 pm. We have a cook-out every week and fly some. LOL.

We fly at a private FS airport, so we can't leave flight stands standing around the aprons. Some carry a folding table with them. I use a folding worktable/vise thing like a Workmate. I have devised vertical supports to plug into the holes in the table for wing stops, and for some planes the vice will open up enough to hold the fuselage. For the bigger engined planes, I use tent stakes available at Wally World to hold the table legs down. Also for bigger planes, I clamp a piece of wood shaped like a channel to syupport the tail wheel. I also have adapters to clamp in the table vice to hold engines for break-in. I made a tray that sits on top of the two lower cross members to hold my flight box, fuel, etc. The workstands are available at Harbour Freight amoung others for $15-$20. Works for me.

Regards,

Richard

I've seen the flight stands utilizing B & D Workmates for years.

A friend had the wooden frame he used in an old original Workmate from the late 60's early 70's era.

He gave me the Tee frame and I went to the discount store and bought the Workmate 500.

I love it.

When I go to the flying field, I use mine. I do not use the AMA type club stands.

Hey all, just a heads-up for you. If anybody is in the Madison, WI area, there is a LHS there by the name of Hobby Horse, and they're selling Saitos for cheap! I just picked up a second FA-62 for $204.00, with tax out the door was like $210.00 they're selling several different models/displacements for like $40 less than Horizon, you may even want to call and see if they'll ship. Just thought I'd let y'all know

To be a dealer for Horizon, you have to sign a Fair Market Agreement that you will not undersell the Horizon suggested street price such as listed on the Horizon site.

Hobby Horse would have to handle this on a one on one basis and not advertise this price

I covered all our wing-posts on our airplane stands with rubber closed-cell pipe insulation. I love it better than carpet.

I got it at Grainger. Dirt cheap. Just cut to length and slide it over the 2x4s
Lasts for years. Zero wear on wings. you can stick screwdrivers and stuff into the tops to hold them

Their listed prices on the website are about $30 higher than Horizon's.

Maybe the owner likes you a lot???

Wonder what the prices are by phone?
